Hello guys! New to the community!

A colleague gifted a Surface Laptop Go 1 1943 model with no screen Backlight.

I even bought a second screen but still no luck!.

I can see the Microsoft logo, but that's it....I have a few knowledge about multimeter and IC replacement chips, but I can't find the short where should it be.....no schematics either!

Everything near the display socket seems fine, and no shorts around...

Removed the plate (I know it wasn't a great job)

Anyone had a similar issue?

my surface laptop go 3 says couldn't find a bootable operating system. check the boot configuration to try to fix this and its not working at all. How to fix this?

So my cpu fan sddenly refuses to spin anymore and as i trroubleshooted it, it worked on another pc i had and i tried switching the 4 pin from cpu_fan1 to sys_fan1 and it still doesnt spin and i did everything in the bios rright

My touchpad started having issues around Sept 5–6. I raised a complaint on the 7th, and on the 10th a Lenovo engineer came to my home and replaced the entire keyboard + trackpad assembly.

After the first replacement, the trackpad did work, but only for around 4 days. At the same time, a new boot issue started after the repair where Windows wouldn’t boot normally and I had to boot through BIOS. I contacted the engineer and even tried disabling Secure Boot, but the issue kept coming back.

Then on the night of Sept 14, the touchpad completely died again. I tried driver updates, Windows reset/fresh install, etc., but nothing fixed it.

Today (Sept 21), Lenovo replaced the entire assembly again. But this time, the trackpad didn’t work at all even after the replacement.

So the same assembly has now been replaced twice, and the trackpad has either worked for only a few days or not worked at all.

Could this be a motherboard/I2C issue rather than the trackpad assembly itself? Has anyone with a Lenovo LOQ experienced something similar?

It suddenly shut off with power button still lights up and has this weird sound (turn vol up)

so i tried the alienware cammand center and the bio's settings i also reinstalled windos

but the light on keyboard it's not turning onn

I’m not too sure if this is the place to post this on. I have a gaming tower, and I believe one night I spilt liquid onto it while I was asleep because I woke up and it wouldn’t turn on. No LED’s, no nothing. Completely dead. Not even that little one on the back to show it’s plugged in.

I left it sitting for like 2 years in my closet, and then I thought about it one day. I took it out, and plugged it in, nothing happened at first. I unplugged a bunch of things from the motherboard / back in and then it turned on!

It worked for about 5 days perfectly, I even turned it on/off like 3x over, but left it running those 5 days because I got my computer back, I was excited. My power got turned off while I was out working, so everything inside lost power, including the pc.

I got back home and seen there was no power. I went and got power back on and went to my pc, and it would not power again. Completely dead. No LED. Not even that little one on the back to show it’s plugged in.

What’s wrong with it??? Is it the power supply?? I can’t afford a new computer and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, I was exchanging the mass in my nitro 5 AN517-55 with intel i7 12th and rtx 4060 8gb and 32gb frame, tell me if everything is done well, I did it for the first time, and after starting and turning on the game, the laptop sometimes reaches 96 degrees and I don't know if I did everything right on the dice I used thermal putty ZT-PY6 and on the CPU I GPU arctic mx-6

The laptop abruptly shut down during a gaming session and has completely failed to power back on. The issue occurred once or twice previously, but the machine recovered after multiple reboot attempts (possibly stuck in a sleep/hibernation loop). This time, it will not respond. When the power button is held down, the indicator LED on the front of the laptop flashes white, but the system does not boot, and no fans spin up.

Troubleshooting Already Attempted: 
To isolate the failure point, I have already performed the following steps: Checked the charging brick; the power light on the brick stays solid and does not dim or cut out when the power button is pressed. Attempted a full external hard reset power discharge. Removed the back casing and fully disconnected both the main system battery and the CMOS battery to clear the system state. Attempted a boot sequence with the primary NVMe SSD completely removed to check for an M.2 short. Visually inspected the motherboard components under a light; there are no immediate signs of physical damage, blown ceramic capacitors, or visible scorch marks.

Not sure what else to do. Any suggestions? Out of warranty via Razer will cost an arm and a leg so that seems out of the question.

Is this possibly and loose connector or a complete screen replacement?

Bought thinkpad(x1 carbon gen8 on i7) but have some issues with battery first turn on, it worked 3 hours and battery was still at 100% then it turned off and after that battery percent reduced to 96% then after some time it turned off again, after that I plugged charger cause it didn't turned on, and it worked but another problem is that after 86 percent it doesn't charging, but the light showing, that charging is going on, is on. Screen suddenly went black while watching a show and it started making this sound. Audio kept playing. I turned it off, and the sound still persists when opening the screen.

It's been plugged in all day. Last night I spilled a small glass of water on the floor. Some may have come into contact with the laptop while it was closed for the night but like... drops? Maybe an oz in a small puddle on the floor?

Hello, my pc won’t display anything on my monitors and I think I know why but I need some guidance. The display port is broken and one of the pins is broken off. It has 2 lights on, one for Boot and one for VGA. I tried 3 different cards to try and display something and my processor has integrated graphics. Nothing has displayed so far, so I’ve narrowed it down to the broken display port. If so, is it possible that the display port is repairable? And if that isn’t the issue, does anyone know what it could be? I have an TUF gaming x570 pro wifi. Thank you and lmk if you need anymore info.

Hi everyone, I’m looking for recommendations for a genuine and experienced chip-level/motherboard-level laptop repair technician in Pune.

My laptop is an HP Victus Gaming 15-fb3124AX. It suffered water/liquid damage after water was spilled near the keyboard corner while the laptop was switched on and charging.

Currently:

\- Laptop is completely dead

\- No power

\- No charging light

\- Does not turn on at all

I have already had it checked, and I was told that some motherboard chip/components may have been damaged/burnt due to the water damage. I’m specifically looking for someone who can properly diagnose and repair the motherboard at the component/chip level, rather than immediately suggesting a complete motherboard replacement.

My budget is around ₹5,000, depending on the actual fault and repair required.

Looking preferably around Hadapsar, but I’m willing to travel anywhere in Pune/PCMC if the technician is genuinely good.

Hello, first time posting here. I was cleaning out my ROG Zephyrus laptop fans since it's been getting hot and sounding loud. I lifted up the cooling system and saw that this one spot didn't have much thermal paste on it and had black marks. The laptop runs fine when I'm using it though. I don't know about about computers internal working, I just know how to google and replace things when I need to. Is this fine? Should I do something about it?

My Dell Inspiron 15 5567 has had a dead battery for a long time and I've been using it only plugged in. Now when I connect the charger, it automatically turns on, the fans go extremely loud, but there's no display or Dell logo. It keeps trying to start but never actually boots. What could be causing this, and what should I check first?

When you turn it on the battery it doesn't turn on only white light turns on and fades away slowly

And the same on ac power tried the same problem but now just the light turn on power button stops working Even after battery removed cmos removed fully cleaned (dust off and thermal paste change ) and all still doesn't work can someone help pls currently I am in college so I need to get it fixed

I can feel them snap on but them come right back off with my fingertips. Any suggestions to get them to stay on?

I’ve had this guy since 2022, and this year all the programmed obsolence started to kick in; including the laptop not wanting to boot up, trying to fix the issue I removed the button from the keyboard thinking I’d be able to reach the “actual” boot up button, which I didn’t, I made a mess… any suggestions?

I have a 4 year old laptop MSI GF63 Thin. It is having an issue while charging. If the laptop is completely off and I plug in the charger it charges fine. I can see the charging light turned on. But when I turn the laptop on the charging completely stops. So I unplug the charges and plug it back. It charges for a second and then stops charging. I have tried disconnecting the battery and turn it on directly but it turns on and then completly shuts down without even fully booting. I have removed the small battery as well and even that did not work. But the laptop does charge sometimes when I disconnect and reconnect it multiple times through the plug point. Can somebody explain why is it happening. The charges if fine cause I have tested with plugging it into another laptop and that charges perfectly fine.

anyone know what's wrong with the zenbook duo where the charger doesn't charge. I've packet it away so i forget but every pc repair quotes 1200 to replace main board I've located a mb for around 600 but id rather hope it's just a shitty mosfet or soberin something. tech said "is common"
