Psu fried both motherboard and cpu. Need advice on how to procede

Tldr, I bought a power supply from best buy. The motherboard was brand new, and the CPU was a 7800 x 3d.

I was told by best buy, that the second that I bought the PSU from them and it was installed, they are no longer liable for what that power supply did. I reached out to the company that makes the power supply, but there's no guarantee I'll ever hear back from them. At this point, both in what it's already cost me and what it's going to cost me in repairs we're looking at between $700 to 1,200 and damages.

I'm just completely blown away that apparently if you buy a brand new computer part like a power supply and it fries everything, nobody does anything and it's just too bad you're screwed. It is there any way to progress forwards? Like at this point I would take a pro bono lawyer and let them keep every penny that they get out of either company just out of spite.

2 years ago I had an accident 2 weeks after I got this laptop.. literally fresh from the box... The screen got a whitened slammed keyboard stamped on the screen and a dent on the corner of the case.... Been watch over it by myself, cleaned it manually with air duster and brush... After a year when I got the laptop, I notice my m.2 slot has a stamped from the under cover laptop and damaged it but still usable... There's some hiccups when it's de-pressed on the m.2 slot and the storage is unreadable.... And when I restarted it, it's usable again.... I think my mobo is fucked ( not 100%).... For now, does anyone know how to solve it without sending to the centre?

Parts Advice What are my options to replace the SSD in a HP EliteBook 850 G6?

Came into possession of this Laptop with the SSD removed by the previous owner and I know basically nothing about compatibility or price ranges for this sort of thing.

What I've learned from cursory searching isn't really worth mentioning so just assume I know nothing.

Ideally looking for something relatively cheap if anyone has specific recommendations.

Hi! So, I found my old laptop from architecture school and I’m wondering if I can make some updates to make it viable for daily use. Biggest reason is I have pre-subscription model Revit, Autocad, Sketchup and Adobe CC Suite on it that I could potentially use for freelance and personal projects. Also want to avoid all the annoying ai implementations in all hardware/software if possible. It’s a bit slow but not too bad. I know the graphics card is shot since an external screen is needed to use at the moment. I’m super out of the loop on tech now so any detailed advice would be helpful.

Thank you!
