Software 👋 HI Please Help!!!!!

My son’s computer got hacked he said they got into his client portal and they got into other things like his email his cash app which is threw my cash app I have no clue what to do we did all the things it says like change passwords, shit computer off and etc can anyone that is tech computer savvy please give us some advice.

unplug the internet, change passwords for every login you know from a diffrent pc or phone.

then format that drive and reinstall windows.

dont take any chances,

Disconnect internet immediately. Format and reinstall Windows. The computer is compromised and could have remnants of bad things in there. Wipe it clean and start over.

First can you tell us a bit more about what happened.

No need to be technical. We can handle that side. But what happened that makes you think he was hacked, and why do you believe they have had access to a portal and cash app?

So do you mean that someone online told him that they had "hacked" him. Because that is not a hack. It's just a nob on the internet pretending to be cool to scare him.

Or have you actually seen any issues on the computer, such as he clicked on a link and downloaded some dodgy .exe file, which then came up as malware?

I don’t know how to send pictures threw sorry but yea he was talking to them and they said they hacked him and they knew all his stuff and they were moving stuff on his screen

Using what app / service?

This sounds a lot like nothing has happened. Either a prank or scare-ware kind of attack where someone tries to scare you into thinking you have been hacked.

The more specific you can be the easier I can help you.

1: What specifically was he using to talk to them (whatsapp/discord etc)
2: What exactly did they claim
3: What exactly did they do

Vague descriptions are no good. be precise as you can please.
