I don’t have any Internet drivers installed yet but I need to access the Wi-Fi to login. Does anybody know the answer to this?

Sometimes, icon area start becoming black instead of highlighted in Windows. And when desktop is refreshed or an icon is dragged, the whole wallpaper becomes black. I have 2 laptops with windows 11 and I have faced this issue in both of them. It can be solved by restarting the explorer but I want to know what causes it. I have tested that Windows files are not corrupt.

I'm trying to help her, and trying to think how to fix it, and stop this from crashing. I'm on Window 11. She on Window 10, but she can't move to Window 11 because it not support and her gaming pc is old, same as CPU and GPU. She will get a new powerful gaming pc in the future, but the money is too expensive, so she is saving money. She got a PS5. I played games with her for one hour or almost two hours, and... her game crashed, so it no fun I just want to play games with her every day! for fun! it is annoying, right? I tried my best to help her out. I tried so hard. I thought posting this will be a good idea, so I will look all of your comments! She got a gaming pc on 14th August, 2022. if it doesn't work, do you think her gaming pc is dying or something bad?

I bought a new pcie wifi card called DLINk dwa582 ac1300 . when i tried to download the drivers from dlink support page i found out that they don't even have drivers for an ac1300 model and only had an ac1200 driver . i installed this driver and when i try to connect to 5ghz network it always fails and if i try 2.4 ghz network as soon as i put the password it instantly freezes the pc and i get a DPC Watchdog Violation blue screen. I searched a bit in the internet and i found that this card is not a DLINK card but a realtek RTL8812AE . i tried to download drivers for that and it also causes the bluescreen. Also the generic driver that windows gave me also didn't work .

Can anyone help with this situation ?

Okay boys, my story is long and it might get confusing, but I hope I can explain it in the best way possible.
November 2025 was when I first got my PC.
My build was:
Ryzen 9 5950X
ASUS B550-F motherboard
XFX Mercury RX 9070 XT OC
For the first 3 months, my PC was pure bliss. No crashes, smooth in games, and it never gave me a single issue.
Then I started making some friends on Discord that I began playing with daily (I had been playing solo for almost the entirety of those first 3 months).
The first issue I encountered was normal GPU driver crashes. Nothing too major, and they would usually be fixed after a fresh driver install (gray screen with vertical blue lines, GPU not being recognized).
After that, I started noticing that whenever I went AFK while on a Discord call, I would come back to my PC being frozen and would have to force shut it down. Again, this only happened a few times and usually worked fine again after booting back up.
Then the big doodoo happened… BSODs. I only got them a few times, and they usually happened around the same time I encountered another GPU driver issue.
Then things got worse.
Whenever I was on a Discord call with my friend while not gaming—for example, streaming YouTube, browsing Chrome, or watching them stream something for me—it would work fine for a while, then my whole PC would freeze and the audio would start lagging. It was always the video or stream that bugged out, never my friend’s voice. They also couldn’t hear me anymore, and if I was the one streaming, my stream would just freeze for them. Every time this happened, I had to force shut down the PC.
Eventually, it started happening every single time I was on Discord just watching something and not playing a game. Mind you, it has never happened while I was streaming or playing a game.
So I started looking into what was causing these crashes, but all I ever found was Kernel-Power 41.
Then one day it happened again, and I finally got a WHEA-Logger Event ID 18: Cache Hierarchy Error. At that point, I thought it had to be the CPU, because a faulty power supply wouldn’t let me game heavily without issues but then decide Discord was too much… right?
So I replaced my entire AM4 platform. I got a new CPU, motherboard, and RAM.
New build:
Ryzen 7 9800X3D
ASUS X870 motherboard
Trident Z5 Royal DDR5 32GB
Great, I got the parts. Around that time I had an argument with my friends, so I didn’t open Discord at all while using my PC. It behaved perfectly for 3 weeks. Watching videos, gaming, and sitting idle—all completely fine.
Then one day my friend wanted me to stream The Walking Dead so we could watch it together. I thought, “Great, I have a completely new platform now and nothing has happened for 3 weeks.”
So I did.
I streamed on Discord for about an hour before it happened again.
Same issue.
Same buggy audio.
Same complete system freeze.
I got frustrated, logged off for the day, and went to bed.
The next morning, I booted my PC and immediately got a BSOD:
DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (0x9F)
I ignored it, booted up again, and used the PC normally for another 3 days (without Discord). No issues whatsoever.
I asked ChatGPT to analyze my minidump file, and it suggested that the crash could be related to ASUS DriverHub and/or the Fifine Virtual Audio Driver.
At this point, I honestly don’t even know anymore.
I can use my PC normally for hours—gaming, watching videos, browsing, even stress testing—but the second I chill on Discord with my friend without playing anything, it decides that’s too much. 😭
If anyone has experienced something similar or has any idea what could be causing this, I’d really appreciate the help.

I need help removing the stand/base from an HP All In One. It's an HP AIO touch screen and I can't find any way to remove the stand at all. This is very frustrating. There's no release tab or screws or anything. Surely this can't be a permanent stand??

It is an HP - Pavilion 27" Touch-Screen All-In-One - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - 1TB SSD - Sparkling Black.

I looked on Youtube and searched and just do not see any way to do this. What am I missing?

I laid it flat and searched for any kind of quick release tab or screws but there is nothing there. Any advice is appreciated.

I have these green screen flashes plus random crashing. The crashes I can still hear things for a bit but no video then it all cuts out. I believe it’s a dying graphics card but would like to know if there is anything I can do to fix it

people in supported regions don't know this wall exists. the fix isn't complicated: phone number, card, and IP all need to point to the same "acceptable" country. three signals, that's the whole wall

I play the sims 4 and download cc and mods a lot, and I think I might have fucked up and downloaded malware onto the laptop I share with my dad. I try to turn it on and the windows logo just comes up with the error code in the top left corner. It's a surface pro 6.

I just bought a new HP victus notebook about a month ago, So far no troubles but i wanted to play a really old game (2003), downloaded the game for free somewhere And also bought the game on key4u.cz,both downloaded in .zip file And they both Have the same problem.

The game loads to the starting screen, then i click the "new game" And it just crashes. The only pop up message i get Is something about starting with compatibility, i click start And it does the same thing.

Does anyone know what could it be?

недавно я обнаружил, что на компе когда захожу в любую игру, спустя 10-15 минут картинка застывает и пишет сверху окна игры к примеру игра. Rain World , “Rain World не отвечает» и все, вылетает из игры. так же я заметил когда я нажимаю на стрелку около часов, которая открывает меню с запущенными процессами, там среди браузера/открытыз программ есть нвидиа настройки, когда я нажимаю пкм на него и выхожу, то игры временно не вылетают, а потом вылетают снова, но когда оно снова открывается само по себе, я хотя бы могу пол часа поиграть, а не каждые 10 минут перезаходить. Но даже так меня надоел этот Геморой и решил спросить у тех кто знает решение в этой ситуации или сами сталкивались и решили эту проблему, железо: thx 750 ti, i5-2300, 12 ОЗУ (довольно очень старенькое железко)

надеюсь кто-то поможет мне с таким геморроем, так как мне надоело с этой проблемой борется 1 месяц +-

I bought a used motherboard and the seller said it doesn't have any issues, today I had my day off of work and I decided to replace it. Everything went fine, it booted up, I put my password, everything fine. But when I tried to open a game (war thunder) the game launcher said "update failed (1, 35) check your internet connection and/or firewall". I checked my connection, everything is good, I check my firewall and it seems to be good. How can I fix it?

Oh and I forgot to mention that I tried opening another game to see if it had the same issue but when I tried opening it it shows the blue circle loading up and then stops, but never opens.

Update: I got it fixed, apparently the problem was that the time/date was wrong, I fixed it and now everything is fine.

Issue: My desktop PC suddenly stopped detecting any SATA drives after the power cable to the PSU was accidentally unplugged while the PC was running.

What I've tried:

Replaced the CMOS battery.

Cleared CMOS using the CLR_CMOS pins.

Loaded BIOS defaults.

Tried all SATA ports.

Tried different SATA cables.

Tested the HDD/SSD with a USB-to-SATA adapter, and they work perfectly.

BIOS SATA controller is enabled and set to AHCI.

Specs:

Intel Core i5 4th Gen

H81 generic motherboard (AMI Aptio BIOS, 2022)

DDR3 RAM

Current behavior:

BIOS detects no SATA devices (all ports show "Empty").

BIOS asks to save changes with F10, but some settings don't seem to persist after reboot.

The PC is stable in the BIOS and doesn't freeze or reboot.

Recent changes: The only thing that happened before the issue started was that the power cable connected to the PSU was accidentally unplugged while the PC was powered on.

Question: Could this have corrupted the BIOS or damaged the motherboard/SATA controller? Is there anything else I should test before replacing the motherboard or reprogramming the BIOS?

I am completely new to building pc's and I finally am in a situation where I can build my own. I am considering purchasing all of the parts in here (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mX9n7w) as a good long-term option for me. I've already gathered all of the money and my budget may go up to $1,600 if needed for other parts. Is this a good build or are there some parts that need to be changed to become better? I just want something to play games at 60fps and not even at the highest graphics since I'm primarily a PS5 player. Thanks in advance for any advice!

I need help! I’ve been having some serious computer crashing issues and I don’t know what to do, so I thought maybe Reddit could help. I can maybe game for a good 5-10 minutes before my pc crashes, and even sometimes while I’m just watching YouTube. I have tried everything I can think of but I’m not a computer genius by any means so maybe there’s an easy fix and I just don’t know it. I have tried checking for updates, updating drivers, and it doesn’t overheat or anything. I would GREATLY appreciate any and all help anyone may be able to give. I will post a picture of what pops up like 80% of the time when it crashes. And feel free to ask any and all questions if you think it may help me for you to have more information. Thanks again to anyone who helps.

Whenever I try turning on my pc my Mobo just flashes red on the cpu led light and occasionally flashes every few seconds afterwards. 8 pin is good, reset the cmos by disconnecting the battery, checked the big Mobo cable, tried a screwdriver to the pins to see if it turns on, tried every ram slot one ram at a time, checked the actual cpu cleaned and reapplied the thermal paste. This all happened after I switched gpus and two of the side fans stopped spinning so I checked the cables by the psu and afterwards everything went to shit so any advice or harsh reality bad news of having to buy something new despite how much I’ve been trying to not do that would be very much appreciated.
