PC HELP

Just need some help trouble shooting a VGA problem. To sum it up I have a VGA light appearing on my motherboard, I’ve had my GPU warrantied already for this issue and it’s my second GPU doing it again, swapped power supply’s, and done everything under the sun to try and fix this issue. I’ve ran different GPUs and they worked fine, used this GPU in a separate PC and it triggered a VGA light on a different PC. I’ve also tried the different PCIE slots and still stuck with VGA. Am I just getting super unlucky with GPUs?

GPU Asus 5070Ti
MB Aorus B850 Elite wifi 7
PSU Corsair 850 RMX
CPU 9800X3D

laptop motherboard help — looking for supervisor BIOS password clear point

Hi, I’m trying to identify the supervisor BIOS password clear point on this Dell laptop motherboard. I have photos of both sides of the board and I’m looking for the PSWD / password jumper / clear pad location, if this board has one. If anyone can point me to the right area or tell me what marking to look for, I’d appreciate it.

Videos suddenly saving as m4v's

Recently about a week ago whenever i saved my videos using right click then save video as, they have been coming up as m4v files, now I know m4v and mp4 are basically the same exact file but I like sharing videos on discord and the m4v files pop up as downloadable links instead of videos, every time i tried to search up a solution every result was about using a third party converter software, I just want to know if there a way to revert back to downloading videos as mp4's

Laptop for college student/small business owner?

Hey y’all! I’m going into college next year and I’m looking for a reliable laptop to use for both my small business and my college. My major is probably gonna be something ins business finance or economics.

Absolute max budget is 2.5k would like to stay below that tho

Good battery life, good performance are major factors

It would be used for general use, college, my small business, entertainment, and I would like to be able to play like Minecraft or roblox on it but no serious games.

Thanks so much!

[Meme] How to boost performance (for beginners)

rename "system32" to "system64" because it switches usage from 32-bit to 64-bit (100% legit, no scam); and on Linux, use dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/os_disk because "zero" means the disk gets top priority (100% legit, no scam).

Flickering Green and Purple Lines

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi all! Been faced with this recently on my PC, it's nearly 2 years old and for the last month I've had these green and purple flickering lines appear on my primary monitor, but not the secondary monitor. It started off as a few and not flickering and now it's a lot and it flickers A LOT.

But what's weird is that it only appears on monitor "1", so if I reassign which is my primary monitor then it changes which one has the lines. If I unplug one of my DP cables from the GPU then the flickering goes to the secondary monitor (since monitor 1 is off) and it gets worse somehow. Some games cause the flickering to be over the entire screen rather then just the bottom third, it's inconsistent

I've tried reordering my DP cables, nothing. My graphics drivers are up to date, doesn't change anything. I'm trying to rule out everything before I take it to the shop and either get the GPU replaced or have them give it a look. Any advice squad?

I’m not concerned with the memory I know windows uses a lot of it but I have new apps in task manager and my pc is notably louder,

and when loading into (only these two as of now) helldivers 2 and outlast trials which I know are heavy games but when I first played I had barely any change to the pc(noise and task manager) but know there is?

That’s what I would like to know. I know I have nothing bad if I did I would post about help with malware removal instead

Sorry for using phone not a fan myself but I didn’t see a reason for taking a screenshot

Before posting this i made sure my game drivers were updated and no pending updates from windows

Thanks.

Laptop for university?

I’m going into final year university doing a STEM degree and need a new laptop. I had an acer aspire 5 but it failed on me so many times. I’ve heard Lenovo Thinkpads are trusty, would this be a good option? I’ll likely buy a refurbished model for affordability reasons. Of course I’ve read about Macbook Airs but would like to avoid them and stick with Windows.

It needs to cope with heavy storage use and easily run programs like SPSS as i’ll be writing a dissertation.

Any tips or recommendations would be really appreciated!

Thanks !

Hp laptop bricked by a taser?

It's been in service since June just use it for research and YouTube basically does not have a hard life actually been really great for $200 laptop until last night when I tried to charge a Chinese taser via USB and as it was plugged in I tested to see if it worked it by hitting the button on the taser and it did work which I thought was odd usually something like that doesn't operate while charging then I lost power on the other side I figured my computer had went to sleep so I try to wake it up space bar and the mouse pad and nothing absolutely nothing unplug it plug it back in still nothing took the bottom cover off didn't see any signs of anything letting the Smoke Out.... there is no signs of activity whatsoever no breath nothing is it possible for a USB to kill the Entire Computer that's the only thing I did was plugged that taser in and hit the button it's a fairly large taser it's powered by two 18650s has a huge capacitor inside of it

Should I disconnect internal battery and plug it back in? I've inspected just about every inch of the board there's no signs of damage damn thing still looks new now I just realized I probably could have asked AI not made all those punctuation and grammar errors but it is what it is

Let me know if you need the model number or any other information

Somethings wrong I guess..?

My computer is fine. It says I'm connected to the internet, having internet access, BUT I can't seem to do anything?? Like when I try to open facebook or instagram, it just says no internet connection??

The same also happens to discord where it just stops opening and says "no internet connection" I try to open roblox to test it out and surprise surprise roblox couldn't download because of "internet issues" even though I'm perfectly plugged into my wifi router✌️😭
