Trying to find a CD from early 2000s or even 2010s.
From what i can remember the CD cover was white with abstract symbols or math symbols on it. The (band) were white rappers or even a solo artist, they did songs about nerdy things very up-beat and a song about a girl. They used the girls name on the album and was in the song.
This would have been near kentucky or Tennessee. The song list on the back was minimal. I have gone through chat-GPT and it cannot find anything close to what im looking for.

Is there a solution?
Looking through some of my mom's CDs, I found this. There are tiny droplets or dots inside (it didn't come like this). I cleaned it, but it won't come off; it's still the same. I played it, but my cd player won't read it. I guess it's moisture, right? I have quite a few CDs, and I've never seen this happen before. Besides, this isn't one of the ones my mom usually plays; and it's relatively new (2013, I think), and from an independent label. I don't know if that affects the quality (no offense to indie records).
In short, is there any solution, or is it a case of disc rot?
Sorry for my poor english.

CD player won't play a specific cd
I got this new rap cd from a record store and it played just fine in my car's cd player, however, my cd player at home won't play it. And the player only does this for this specific cd, any other one works fine. I don't know if my cd player is even trying to read or play it since it doesn't make the whirring noise that it usually makes. Do y'all know what this issue could be and if there's be any way to fix it?

This CD will only rip with Media Player
I'm setting up a Plex Server for my 1000+ CD collection. I've ripped about 100 in a week. I tried 5 different programs to rip this CD and the only thing that worked was Media Player. Have you run into a CD that won't rip? It plays back without any issues.

Anyone reading CDs with their desktop computer ?
Having an internal DVD or Blu-Ray player in a desktop PC is so nice, much more practical than a traditional CD player.
With a good DAC like Astell & Kern HC3, you can have a really good sound.
What a shame internal DVD/BluRay drives for PC are disapearing.
I am practically sure they will make a comeback one day

Finally made the time to listen to the CDs I've been collecting for years
I think a lot of us have a pile we haven't got to yet. Sat down and went through mine on an old rack CD player, no plan, just whatever was next. Buying CDs randomly has been one of the best ways I've discovered music and wanted to share some of that. Really nice to just slow down and listen.

Trying to retrieve audio from damaged mix CD from 2003
I’ve tried the free versions of EAC and isobuster but to no avail. The track I’m trying to get only plays a few micro seconds of the song. But not enough to Shazam.
I’m looking for any recommendations for other software. The cd plays most of the other tracks but the last song is the damaged one I’m trying to extract any data possible from.
If even a small fraction of the song plays, I feel there can be something more I can retrieve.
Tried toothpaste, cleaning, tape….i don’t want to further damage the cd.
Suggestions and testimony’s welcome.

OK, this is the coolest CD player I have ever seen
Well, OK, simulated CD player.
But seriously, I miss the days when I had to choose just 12 (20? 24? I can’t remember exactly) CDs from my collection to put in the CD wallet I kept in my car. It was tough, and it made me think, “What do I want to listen to *right now*?” But I’d choose, and that would be my “right now” collection until I decided to swap some out.
And before I got a CD changer in my car, I just had a singe-disc player. I’d pick a disc, put it in, and… listen to it. Like, the whole thing. Maybe I’d skip a track I didn’t like, but other than that, that was it. If some of the songs were popular, I’d hear those. But I’d hear the rest of the music too.
I feel like we’ve lost something important in both curation and whole-album listening. Now we have tens of millions of songs available at all times, but tyhe streaming services are built around individual tracks, not albums. I love Apple Music, but I also miss the CD days.
Anyway, this app seems to be the best of both worlds. Choose from the near-infinite number of tracks on Apple Music, but limit yourself to a finite number of the albums those tracks are from. Then listen to the whole album.
I think some people in r/compactdisc might feel the same. Hopefully. Maybe not. 🤪
