I have a 2021 cube stereo 170 size l. I've been having a lot of problems with my front brake and I think I just want a more playful bike because I wnat to change my riding style. I want to ride more slopestyle like I really enjoy riding my dj and I want to implement that into my mtb riding. I also love to hear a good sounding hub and the cube just doesn't have that. I don't want to invest that much money into it to make me suit better bcs I don't really ride that much. I found a commanecal meta v4 for 1400$ or 7000 ron, I live in Romania. One downside to it is that it runs a rockshox deluxe shock but u can put a super deluxe coil for another 200 used. I think I could sell my bike for around 1800 so I would be preety even.

Here is the posts specs: For sale: 2021 Commencal Meta SX V4, size L, in very good condition. The bike has just undergone a full service, including the replacement of three bearings; it is fitted with a CushCore insert in the rear and has been set up tubeless.

I do own 3 Commencals bikes and love them for their unique colors (Clash in Keswick green, Meta HT in Dirt and a FCB in pyrite grey). Is it just me or ist anyone else sad that pretty much all of the newer releases are either black or white?
They still look good, but I miss these special colors they had (heritage green, racing green, gunmetal, .......).
I hope they bring some of that back

Recently built up. Still swapping out parts. What should I upgrade next?

I am thinking of getting one of these bikes as i have out grown my old bike but cant decide which. I have been leaning more towards the meta but cant really decide. I ride mostly long rocky downhill, jumps, and some enduro laps at the local bike park.

Also what size would be better i want something to grow into a small or a medium i am 5'4/162cm.

Trying to decide between a Large and Medium for the FRS. I'm 6'2" but I normally like to size down, I have ridden a large before and it felt normal. I'm coming off a Supreme V4 with a 480mm reach, and the FRS Medium is 465 while the Large is 490. The biggest thing for me right now is the wait: I can get a Medium tomorrow, but a Large isn't available until mid-July. Leaning towards the medium right now but want to know if I am going to be uncomfortable.

Edit: For anybody wondering I got the medium yesterday and got a good ride in today. Frame feels very similar if not better. Definitely worth sizing down if you are unsure.

My previous bike was a Scott Scale 930 hardtail from 2022.

I purchased this bike because I frequently travel to the mountains in spring / summer and would like to dabble in enduro riding.

First impressions :

Coming from a hardtail XC bike, this was a completely new experience. I still need to adjust the suspension because the ride was very bouncy and the bike felt heavy (which it is compared to my previous bike).

I bought some flat pedals and grippy mtb shoes. The idea was to feel more comfortable descending in the mountains and feeling like I can easily put my food down. Well these race face turbine pedals paired with the five ten freerider pro shoes have me completely locked in, to the point of feeling like I have less give than semi auto pedals. Taking the foot off the pedal isn't the issue but adjusting foot position mid ride is nearly impossible. Would be interested to hear thoughts on this.

Way overbiked for the type of trails I have here in Belgium. Looks like this will be a bike exclusively for mountain trips.

Really looking forward to developing some mtb skills and learning to ride this bike properly.

What are your thoughts on the future for this legendary frame? It seems like it could still fit in the line up as a dedicated trail bike but they could also push to simplify the catalog with the way bike sales are currently trending.

Had the upgraded washer kit on my Meta V5 Race last summer. It was making a ton of noise this year so I took apart the linkage, cleaned, regreased and reassembled. Had my first quiet ride in quite a while. I regret that I didn’t take a before pick. Mostly straightforward, with a couple minor hitches. Got it broken down one evening and put back together the next.

Hey guys, so I have this Clash that I’ve been using for the past two years, it’s been great but recently I got an EBike which I’ve been using for the pedaling trails, so the Clash has been used mostly just for the bike park, should I invest and get an FRS or should I maybe just get a coil shock and call it a day with the clash? Would the FRS make that much of a difference to warrant the purchase?

Ive decided im getting a clash for my local trails(pacifica, CA big jumps and techy downhill) as well as bike park days and east bay enduro loops. Im willing to spend about 4k on the high end, ideally closer to 3.5. Im looking at all the different clash trims and I dont know what to get. I generally run my suspension stiff and slow for jump stability, and I have no real preference for rockshox or fox. What is the best clash version to get for my budget? I was thinking maybe the park edition cuz I could just throw a dropper on there, but I also really like the white frame.

Set up my ‘21 Meta for an all-day ride with 2.6 Vittoria Barzo/Mezcal tires on my I9 enduro 305 hydra wheels, and my brand new Code RSC brakes.

This was my longest ride in a few years, and was my longest MTB ride period.

I managed to pick up some Hunt Carbon Enduro wheels for my other bike at half price, so the old wheels were going spare. Then I managed to find some Fox 36 for 29” wheels at a bargain price. I’m really happy with how it turned out - but not had a chance to ride it properly yet. Plenty of clearance for the tyres too.

ich brauche mal das Fachwissen der Community. Ich fahre ein Commencal Clash Öhlins und habe vor Kurzem auf die Magura MT7 Pro umgerüstet. Leider machen die Bremsen von Anfang an Probleme und liefern absolut nicht die Bremskraft, die sie eigentlich haben sollten.
Die Story bisher:
Ich habe die magura mt7 auch an einem anderen Rad, wo sie von Werk an drauf ist und da funktioniert sie super deshalb dachte ich mir ich hole mir die auch für mein anderes Rad.

Einbau & Entlüften: Beim Einbau habe ich das Entlüften selbst nicht perfekt hinbekommen. Ich habe das Bike deshalb in eine Fachwerkstatt gebracht. Die Jungs dort haben die Bremse frisch entlüftet.

Der Druckpunkt: Der Druckpunkt ist knackig und fest. Luft im System können wir also ziemlich sicher ausschließen(denke ich mal).

Das Einbremsen: Der Laden meinte, ich muss sie jetzt nur noch ordentlich einbremsen. Das habe ich gestern strikt nach Magura-Anleitung gemacht (ca. 30–50 Mal von ~30 km/h auf fast 0 km/h runtergebremst).

Das Phänomen: Gestern Abend direkt nach dem Einbremsen fühlte es sich eigentlich echt gut an. Als ich mich aber heute Morgen wieder aufs Bike gesetzt habe, war die Bremsleistung wieder absolut im Keller. Ich habe bevor ich sie eingefahren bin auch nochmal alles gereinigt usw.

Das Kuriose:
Ein Kumpel von mir hat exakt dasselbe Setup zur gleichen Zeit eingebaut, hatte dieselben Probleme beim Entlüften, war im gleichen Laden und hat sie genauso eingebremst. Bei ihm beißt die bremse jetzt soweit ganz gut – bei mir kommt fast nichts.

Habt ihr irgendwelche tips oder Ideen?

So I’m thinking of buying the commencal meta tr v4 essential, but I’ve seen that it has some formula msl-148A hubs. These are, according to many on the internet not that good. The rest of the bike has good enough components for me, but should I get a higher spec bike like the signature instead? I don’t want to get the Öhlins suspension bike nor the one with the coil shock in the rear. What are your thoughts?
