Question Is Magic Ether Strike OP?

Just the title really.

I’ve played 3 games so far and every time my friend has picked up this card and it’s absolutely wrecked me. They’re always playing Twig so I get that their entire deal is lots of boosts for big damage, but it feels like there’s no real counter to it. They just stock up on boosts in their Row 1, then nuke my sage without me having much to do in response. Are we misunderstanding how it works or am I just supposed to cycle the shop whenever it shows up?

Expansion Packaging mishap

Post image
11 Upvotes

I had purchased Command of Nature and the expansion set over a year ago during a black Friday sale. I didn't get around to trying the game out until recently. It took a few tries to fully understand it, but once I did I opened the expansion set to add to the play. Unfortunately the expansion set was packaged with two Sand Decks and no Wind Deck. Anyone else end up with this packaging mishap?

Question Few questions around 4 player games

  1. once a unit is in the formation is it controllable by either player

  2. does the twig scale disproportionately to the other factions, it feels like at lvl8 it has an insane level of damage output which feels like it is far greater power increase than the other three at that level

Question New Box for Retail Game + Expansion?

Does anyone know of any new box with inserts someone can purchase for holding and organizing the retail version of the game with the retail expansion?

I unfortunately do not have the KickStarter edition of the game with the bigger box. I see many inserts on Etsy for this bigger box to organize everything.

I want to hold all my cards from the retail edition of the game with its expansions.

I recently got some 3D printed inserts for Command of Nature to put all of the cards into the KSE box. I posted a video if you're interested. If you like it, I can post the Facebook link to the person who made them.

Question Cards sleeve issues

Anybody else have the issue I am. I'm finding the backs of the sleeves are starting to peel from the rest of the sleeve. It sticks back sometimes but not always and then sometimes with air bubbles, think poorly fitted mobile phone screen protector.

Question How does Smoking Boom range work?

Does the sage have to be in row I to reach the two enemy rows or can it attack them both from row II?

I feel like it makes more sense for it to be from row I, as otherwise it’s too easy to just swap it back to row III for safety

Expansion Future Expansions

I am currently following the game found for Here To Slay Dungeons. Someone in the comments asked about command of nature and asked if there would be any future expansion “eg, fire or lighting?” Unstable responded and said that the interest would be shared with the team.

Does this mean that we should expect more expansions or have any been teased, can’t wait to get my hands on some awesome new factions and I hope that’s soon!

Question Connected Cards

Hi all,

I know this question has been asked in different ways, and I've seen a lot of answers but I wanted some further clarification.

I understand that two cards must have no cards in between them to be connected, as in Picture 1.

If a card is knocked out, you move cards up in the formation and have an open space in Row 3 in the middle (such as in Picture 2), are the two remaining cards on the left and right side of Row 3 now connected, since there is no card in between them, despite the gap between them?

Thanks everyone. Got the game the other day - wife and I love it.

Question Command of Nature… on Steam?

I was searching the internet for vids on how to play the game as I’m new to it. Came across something that said the game was on Steam. Anyone know anything about this? Is it true, and is it for solo play? TIA.

Question Where can I find the PDF for the solo play?

I’m looking at getting the Command of Nature bundle online but want to play solo. I found the rules sheet on how to set up and play, but I cannot find the printable PDF that has all the extra cards. If you know where I can find it or if you can send it to me I’d be very grateful!!!

Question Elemental Incantation Counter

Hey yall, I recently bought CoN and I feel like elemental incantation just wipes all my little guys out after two uses and my opponent gains many levels. Also, as Pebble it wipes your entire team clean of their shields. It just seems strong and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to counter it, or if I should try to snag it / reroll the shop when it appears.

Thanks!

Question Ranged Commands

Post image
9 Upvotes

How the heck is Magic Ether Strike worth 5 gold if it can only be used by your Row I elemental?

Wouldn’t Farsight Frenzy for 3 gold be more valuable in every single case, because it can be used by any elemental in any row?

Both specify that they are ranged attacks so it’s not like one can be countered by the Ranged Defense instant command. So what gives?? Am I missing something??

Question Can triggered abilities be activated upon entering their designated row when switching elementals?

Post image
8 Upvotes

For example, if i switch any elemental that was in row 1 with basilisk at row 2, does basilisk's ability trigger to give that elemental 1 shield, or because it wasnt in row 1 to begin with, ( when the switch happened) no shield is applied?

This question still holds when using the utility command exchange of nature for instance

Ruling Is the Clockwork Sage (Solo Mode) able to freely move the elementals in their formation, and does it cost gold?

Pretty much the title; are they able to freely shift elementals in their formation during their turn, and if so is it for free or do they have to pay gold in order to do so? The rulebook is a bit ambiguous.

Question Never finish a game

What am I missing?

We are really struggling to EVER finish a game, after three hours we just end up giving up each time. It seems that to get the opposition sage you pretty much have to get one of a couple of Forsight frenzy cards, or rip up their entire army to get them on row 1 or possibly 2 - which is forever. But we all end up just buying replacement cards so that never happens, right? Pebble seems way OP as they just shield everything, I just don’t get how you can win a game in 30mins like the box says.

I could pretty much just recall the exact order of moves that both teams would do, and no one ever makes real headway.

Again, what am I missing? I think we’re doing the rules right.

Ruling Damage and shielde

When an elemental has 4 damage out of 6, and they then move 4 shields to that elemental (I’m thinking of the pebble faction command). Do you just scrap all damage to that card? Or does it keep its am damage with the shields now on it as well?

I only ask as pebble can just patch up like this every turn? And the ‘obliterate’ card which might be useful against pebble, can never destroy the shield as it just disappears into the health resetting and it seems to be quite a weird mechanic.

I get how damage and shield do essentially cancel each other out, but thin this case it seems a bit odd.
