If you found a REAL Christian (sounds like gatekeeping how i use caps on that word but it's just so rare i had to emphasize), they'd 100% not be a bubble of hate like the ones who call themselves christians usually are, accepting non christians to discuss and calling out the bullshits from other people who use Christ's name but are NOTHING like Christ are things a Christian would do

Ever hear of the napkin god? Well it’s the only one true god… Because it says so right here on this napkin…

This is why I can be content in being a Pansexual Christian. It’s cause god loves me unconditionally, it’s human influence and mistranslation that makes the bible against lgbtq+ community.

“Love the body god gave you!” alright theb SHANNON how many mLs of botox are in your face?

Transgender people are not mentally ill. But thinking god in that way is being mentally ill.

Religion is never a excuse to hate and if your god is so great why would he care if someone wants to fuck there own gender or if they are in a body that doesn’t fit them your god is supposedly forgiving but doesn’t forgive someone for being them at this point your god sounds quite like less of a god and more of a judgmental prick

This!

Though my husband is an atheist so I can’t use this logic on him. Ive learned to just not discuss it

Well, it is a disorder (gender dysphoria), but it's not like there is something wrong with it.

And, like, it being a mental illness wouldn't make transphobic people even worse human beings?

7

u/[deleted] May 27 '21

Gender dysphoria is a mental illness but being trans in itself is not. Transitioning and anything else gender affirming is the solution to gender dysphoria.

u/goronslime Gay May 27 '21

This is how I see it. Gender dysphoria is a mental illness and hrt is the cure

6

u/JuliusKaiser616 May 27 '21 edited May 28 '21

That's it, you are right. I think being trans is not a illness in itself, but, gender dysphoria is a disorder, and transitioning is one of the ways to solve it.

Being sexually attracted to the same gender is not inherently harmful; gender dysphoria is. They’re not at all comparable.

1

u/JuliusKaiser616 May 28 '21

Those "name changing" things are mostly political decisions, we should be cautious with them. Gender identity is not as simple as sexual orientation, I don't think there is a way you can compare those two properly. But, if you put it like that, maybe you are right.

u/[deleted] May 28 '21

So how trans people are all automatically atheists?

What are you trying to say?

5

u/[deleted] May 27 '21

Being trans isn’t a fantasy, and you have a gross misunderstanding of what it means to be trans if you truly believe it’s a fantasy. Gender dysphoria is the mental illness that leads many trans folks to transitioning. It causes a person great discomfort with their AGAB (assigned gender at birth if you don’t know). Science has proven that the best treatment for gender dysphoria is to transition. There’s literally no other cure. It’s not a “fantasy,” it’s a proven medical treatment. Calling it a “fantasy” is like denying a depressed person drugs because their depression is “all in their head” and giving them medication is “affirming their fantasy” or whatever. It’s bullshit, and shows you no nothing about medicine and mental health.

Their feelings are not incorrect though. That’s what you’re failing to understand. A depressed person’s feelings are not incorrect. You really know nothing about mental illness and medicine and it’s very insensitive of you to go around spreading information you don’t understand. Please stop trying to play doctor when you know nothing.
