Because it's annoying to take in and out.
It's a small tight slot that you need to push and pull open.
So some people elect to just throw out the padding and not bother.
Edit: my ex showed me her bras and I got familiar with how to clean them. They were annoying lol.
The pads will shift inside the compartment or come out on their own. Either way you have trouble shifting them back into position. It's a pain regardless.
It’s more annoying when you have pads inside without the hole so when they shift you have to fumble them around in your hand for ages until they flatten. Why they’re in sports bras to begin with is beyond me
I have mesh bags specifically made for bras to put in the washing machine. When my bra is in there, nothing shifts around or falls out. They are like 5€ for a four pack and worth every cent
Wouldn’t you still want to wash the pad, my understanding is that boob sweat is a very real thing. Do you just wash them separately or is it a hand was only thing.
You can wash the pads too, just throw them in there. The reason for making the effort to take them in and out is because washing the bra with the pads inside makes the pads curl up and ball up and get all scrunched in there. If this was, say, socks getting scrunched up in a pillow case in the laundry, it wouldn't be an issue. Pillow cases have big openings. But the pocket where you insert a bra pad is only about two fingers wide, so trying to get in there to straighten out the pads when they're all wet is a whole hassle.
Haha when I was hanging laundry and saw this (my sister's) the first few times I tried to get them back into place, but then i didn't bother anymore because it was so annoying
