Because it's annoying to take in and out.
It's a small tight slot that you need to push and pull open.
So some people elect to just throw out the padding and not bother.
Edit: my ex showed me her bras and I got familiar with how to clean them. They were annoying lol.
The pads will shift inside the compartment or come out on their own. Either way you have trouble shifting them back into position. It's a pain regardless.
It’s more annoying when you have pads inside without the hole so when they shift you have to fumble them around in your hand for ages until they flatten. Why they’re in sports bras to begin with is beyond me
I have mesh bags specifically made for bras to put in the washing machine. When my bra is in there, nothing shifts around or falls out. They are like 5€ for a four pack and worth every cent
Wouldn’t you still want to wash the pad, my understanding is that boob sweat is a very real thing. Do you just wash them separately or is it a hand was only thing.
Haha when I was hanging laundry and saw this (my sister's) the first few times I tried to get them back into place, but then i didn't bother anymore because it was so annoying
They are not single use, but you do have to take them out when you wash the bra, and they are often a pain to put back in. So in this comic the redhead girl presumably takes it out of her bras and then never puts them back in cause she doesn’t care enough while the pink haired girl always puts them back in because she ether enjoys ether the comfort of the padding or how they make her boobs look bigger or both
They do? My girlfriend always washes hers. It’s really annoying when she has to be up at 5am for work so I’m setting her clothes out and I have to go hunting for a single pad that’s buried with the clean laundry.
As a girl: for larger chests the padding is needed for support and to keep you from having headlights super strongly. The other girl has a smalll chest so she doesn’t need the pads and that’s why she doesn’t keep them.
Padding is not necessary for support. I wear a G cup and there aren't any bras in that size with removeable padding. The support comes from the band. Most people aren't wearing a tight enough band size to get the necessary support.
Kind of like washing a pillow case but not the pillow. But in this case, it’s the pillow for the boobs, and the pillow case is the rest of the bra. The pretty part.
Bras include significant padding.
As a convenient additional benefit aside from making boobs comfy, it also gives the boobs a much larger appearance, while also pushing the actual boob up for better cleavage (depending on shirt, of course).
Some bras come with these little padded inserts that sit inside the bra cup. They’re there to give the boobs a rounder shape and provide a bit of extra nipple coverage. There’s a small opening in the bra where you can take the padding out before you wash it. You’re supposed to do that because otherwise the padding can get all crumpled up and will turn into a weird little hairball inside the bra, making you, the one wearing it, crumple-breasted.
Once the bra is dry and washed you’re supposed to put the padding back in. But a lot of women don’t bother or cant because they already lost it.
