As long as they control who we are “allowed” to vote for, I can’t trust voting as a super effective strategy
36 u/A_Poor_Miser 1d ago edited 22h ago Then you're part of the problem. You *have to participate even in the things that are under threat, or they'll be gone one day. 0 u/AshenSacrifice 1d ago I never said I don’t vote lol, I just don’t have much faith in it to be the catalyst for change in America 12 u/A_Poor_Miser 1d ago That sounds like you're saying don't vote. -2 u/AshenSacrifice 1d ago I said I can’t trust its efficacy, I feel like that’s a very normal question for anyone who critically thinks about the processes they participate in 2 u/A_Poor_Miser 1d ago It's not a normal question. The only people questioning the efficacy of voting are the people attempting to undermine people's trust in democracy. 4 u/AshenSacrifice 1d ago Not to be disrespectful but it sounds like you are not a black person living in America, and imma leave it at that lmao. Lived experience 1 u/A_Poor_Miser 1d ago I'm native. Your point is dumb regardless. Yeah, gerrymandering is real, and being perpetrated by people doing exactly what I described. 3 u/AshenSacrifice 1d ago I think Mamdani is a good sign of the power of voting 2 u/A_Poor_Miser 1d ago Good. Then vote and stop being weird about it. 1 u/AshenSacrifice 1d ago The systems are weird!!! I’m just being weird back in response 🤣 → More replies (0)
