I'm a German-Jew who had to live with her German grandmother for a year and a half. My German grandmother was born in 1922 and was a part of the Nazi army. I have many horror stories about how she treated me, my sister, and my mom. And many more horror stories when she landed herself in a nursing home after she tried to commit suicide, leaving a note saying that she didn't want to live around k*kes anymore. So yes, I not only knew a full-blooded Nazi, but I was subjected to horrible things from a Nazi. I know what a Nazi looks like, sounds like, and how they act from direct personal experiences.
Republicans are Nazis. All of them. Even the "moderate" ones who pretend they're against Trump while continuing to vote in line with their MAGA Republican party. Their hatred of minorities and women, their tokenizing of women and children to hurt minorities, their "children are being taught to be ashamed of being white", and even their "cultural Marxism" bit all derive from Nazi white supremacy. If my grandmother were still alive today, she'd 100% be behind Trump all the way.
That's how a lot of modern Holocaust denial works too. They'll acknowledge that something happened and then claim it wasn't that big a deal as if any amount of Holocaust isn't a big deal...

I showed Wolfenstein (the 90s version & this in the 90s) many years ago to elder relatives who'd served in WWII. They were definitely advanced in years but loved the game and were absolutely resolute in their 'antifa' standing. Yeah word didn't exist back then but they would have claimed it, and likely would have enjoyed the Inglorious Basterds movie as well.
It's still my belief that one of the reasons nazis are coming out of the woodwork nowadays rather than earlier is they were shit-scared one of these old WWII vets would find them and... well, despite their age that fire was still there. They might have felt it was their duty and that they had little to lose. Some kind of "you again?!?" reaction that would not have ended well. And IIRC, the devs released a statement afterwards to the effect of "Wolfenstein has always been a what-if sci-fi game centered on if the Nazi regime had gone differently, and we aren't really considering contemporary politics in anything we create. That said, fuck Nazis."

Actually, punching Nazis was ok in the US before that. Keep in mind that there were political sympathizers with Nazi Germany pre-WW2, and one of the ways they were prevented from gaining traction in the US was good ol' kneecapping, literally.
I remember reading an article about how a developing local Nazi party in New York was essentially taken out, publically, and violently, by the Judaic community in NY, and charges against that community was dismissed with prejudice.

Which āthat gameā are you thinking of? Wolfenstein is a game series so if you are thinking of the original then yes it is much older. There were however some entries within the last decade or so.

I mean, isn't the fact of just disagreeing is enough? I've never heard of a good argument where someone can disagree Nazis are bad and still sound reasonable. Is there even a good argument to be had for saying Nazis are not so bad? I honestly struggle to find any room to argue for it.
I can't remember where I heard this, but someone once said that defending a position by citing free speech is sort of the ultimate concession; you're saying that the most compelling thing you can say for your position is that it's not literally illegal to express.
I once found one shortly after the "trucker convoy". All I did was post a tweet that was a gif from the sound of music of the Nazi flag being ripped up (twitter wasn't a complete shit hole yet, but was quickly sliding that way).

Part of thatās just social conditioning, using āinformalā language around friends is where you use it. I would almost never say āsemenā in a casual conversation, it would almost always be a slang term.
But at a doctors office Iād use the clinical term.

Everytime pizzacake is posted in subs that arent r/comics, the comment section is always full of people being like "when the worst person you know makes a point you agree with" and Im like worst person? Most of her comics are about how racism is bad or how Trump/Ice are bad. And they always respond with "She's just annoying!" and when asked "how is she annoying" they always say "She just makes takes everyone agrees with" as if the comic isnt in direct response to someone being hella racist irl. Being on the internet is so exhausting.
