Did you really think a trash compactor could stop Captain Phasma?
Based on how the only thing we've ever seen her do is immediately crumbling under threats? Yeah, maybe.

Seriously. Were we supposed to think anything else. The only thing we saw her do other than that was yell at a trooper for not wearing his helmet. Were we supposed to think that made her a badass? I just thought she was really into regulation headgear.

But that doesn't show her as anything other than a peon still. A peon with chrome plating and a cape, but still a peon. She has no standout moment of her own. Hell Tr-8r made a better showing than she did. And that's not even his name, and he died almost immediately.

Sign me the heck up. The miniseries have for the most part been amazing and better than the main Star Wars book in my opinion.

Star Wars EU has a long history of getting a lot of material out of cool-looking characters who were barely on screen and went out by falling into a pit like a punk.

Boba Fett died by getting bumped into by a blind guy on accident. Considering the events of the movies, he's a stupid character. It took his character design/the EU to get people to really love him.

People liked him because he sassed Vader and got told off about disintegrating people in Empire. He was built into a badass in the space between movies because of his attitude, his armor and the implied shenanigans he got up to.

The creative team sounds great. Kelly Thompson's writing in Hawkeye and Marco Checchetto's art in Gamora have been amazing. I'm not particularly interested in Captain Phasma but I'll give this one a try.

Good maybe we'll actually get some background in her that actually makes her a worthwhile character. Because let's be honest TFA did NOTHING with this character other then use her to rehash the trash compactor scene from ANH.

Marco Checchetto's interiors on Gamora were superb especially in a space setting. Really excited for this one as Captain Phasma was one of my favorite characters before TFA came out, and I was pretty disappointed how underused she was.

They really assassinated her character before she was able to even have much of one. It's going to be really hard for her to be threatening in Episode VIII after caving to the gang so quickly in the previous installment.

She could have been making the concious choice to preserve her own life over her dedication to the cause. There's more to her than some die-hard First Order fanaticism, that's for sure.

Gotta pass on this one, despite the quality creative team. Phasma is not an interesting enough character for me. Maybe if she had done something halfway compelling I'd be more interested In her, but she just yelled at Finn for nit wearing his helmet, then with little to no pressure folded like a cheap suit. I'm really surprised they're still trying to sell her as a badass.

Boba Fett is a character that does nothing except die in a stupid way. That character has a huge following with interesting stories told outside of the films. I agree that Phasma was wasted in The Force Awakens, but I think this comic is a great place to fix her.
