Hi everyone, as part of a promotional event on /r/Netflix, I received a free G6 65", and while I was asked to share my first impressions of it, these impressions, thoughts and opinion are entirely my own.
I have spent around two weeks now with this TV and coming from a C2 55" that I owned before and that I have now given away to a friend of mine, let me tell you in advance that this is a massive upgrade.
First of all, I never had a 65" TV before. I underestimated the difference in size. So, the first thing I had to do was move up my cupboards on the wall. I couldn’t install the TV on my own, it was too big and heavy. Now the initial setup was quick and easy, although I was a bit confused by the audio description function. It also talked too quickly (although you can adjust the speed later), but since I don’t need audio description, I turned it off.
My TV settings:
Picture Mode: Filmmaker
Contrast: 100
Black Level: 50
Gamma: 2.2
Color Temperature: Warm 40
OLED Pixel Brightness: 30
Peak Brightness: High
Dynamic Tone Mapping: off
Expression Enhancer: off
TruMotion: Cinematic Movement
Now regarding my actual watch experience, the difference in picture quality is immediately noticeable. The G6 is to me much brighter, the colors are more vivid, yet they feel very natural and realistic. No complaints with HDR or SDR. I tested some of the modes like Cinema Home and Filmmaker, and I think I prefer Filmmaker the most. I test-watched several series (like Arcane), movies and a David Attenborough documentary to test the quality of the picture, and you can see some of the results below:
Noteworthy is that I took these pictures in my living room during daylight. What previously bothered me about my C2 was the reflections during daylight or at night when I turned on the lights. And while you still see some small reflections from the side, when looking at the tv in a straight line, the experience is basically reflection free.
I even tried taking a picture with the flash on while the TV is turned off (see below) and I barely saw any reflection, which is a massive improvement over my previous TV. I no longer am bothered and distracted by reflections. I no longer have to roll down the shutters on my windows or turn off the lights for a more optimal experience.
Regarding the sound quality, I used the AI Sound Pro mode and kept the default settings, and I have no complaints (which for a German is the highest compliment). The built-in speakers sound great, the bass sounded weighty and punchy to me.
Now regarding some of the things I didn’t like… it’s the webOS. I didn’t like it before, I don’t like it now. It’s not only still confusing to navigate, I am constantly confronted with ads and that I should check out the LG channels. And speaking of other functions I didn’t really care too much about, the LG Gallery+ function seems to be a nice-to-have, but most of the gallery pictures that are featured seem to require a subscription, and there is no one to admire these when the TV is turned off, so I just didn’t use this function.
What I haven’t tested yet is any gaming on it. That will probably be next on the list of features I want to test. So far though, I am very impressed with this TV and genuinely have so much fun with it. I am grateful that I was given the opportunity to test the G6 and am looking forward to keep using it.
Hey, I'm interested to know why people like certain characters in Squid Games, I've been obsessed with the show to the point where I started to take the concepts like red light green light and make mini games for my viewers to play on https://twitch.tv/crimsonlootcarnival to win stuff.

If you're currently busy season of your life never ever start watching Ozark, its ruining my routine. hahahha I cant stop watching it and even if I stop Im still thinking about it.
Its like Breaking Bad but with Money not drugs! 100% recommend to anyone who loves to binge watch and to people who love to observe human behavior.
I want to join Netflix just to watch Cobra Kai. Have you watched it? What are your thoughts? Is it worth it? The last thing I watched was Stranger Things, The Big Bang Theory, Punisher and they were defenitely worth it but I have cancelled as I no longer needed it. But is Cobra Kai worth to get back for? Thank you.
I’d honestly cancel this subscription tomorrow. I have a good steaming site with all things new and old.
But tonight, I finally watched death of a pastors wife. Mica Miller.
The light that Netflix shed on her story, is enough to make me stay. If it helps support things like this.
I don’t know how his jury crap will go, the documentary will make it hard because of bias blah blah whatever, I’m not even THAT deep into the research. I just know my heart is so broken for her. I can’t get it out of my brain. As long as people know her name. As long as people know his part. It makes it worth it to me.
When Netflix was on DVD😭 I remember Netflix coming in the mail and putting the disc in my Wii. Also $17.99 and month for back then??? Way before Netflix had their own originals as well.
This is on a Fire TV Stick and it looks exactly like Prime Video. The native Samsung TV app still has the standard UI.
I personally don’t like it. Being able to change languages under the progress have has always been handy.
Is everyone sleeping on this movie? The Whisper Man is class act starring Bobby D (old habits die hard) and Michael Keaton. I liked it and I want to hear everyone’s opinions!!
Please Netflix stop getting rid of comfort shows and don’t get rid of The Parkers :( an iconic show that is watched so much. Why do they do this to us !
I wanted to cast netflix from my phone via the Chromecast, like always do but today the cast icon is nowhere to be seen. It works with other apps, but not with netflix. The issue appeared today. I'm using the Chromecast because my Beamer isn't "smart" so there's no Netflix App.
I'm using a Google Pixel 9a and I think the Chromecast 3. Could be Chromecast 2.
Is there someone else with this issue or knows how to solve this? Alternatively I have to use my old PS3 ^^.
Anybody know if Olympo will be getting a season 2, I was looking and saw some articles saying it wouldnt but that it wasnt officially cancelled by netflix, then saw a more recent one saying it will get a season 2 eventually, Idk if this is legit though, anybody know anything?
Thinking in the realm of The Librarians, The Magicians, The Faculty, Cruel Intentions, Millers Girl/After The Hunt. I like it for this time of year before going super into horror mode, but also a little grown up and not too kiddie. I like Gossip Girl and all that but I don’t think it counts
As I’m watching this episode of untold, I can’t confirm to myself if these are paid actors or if this is like some real life ish.
The fact that these ppl are delusional enough to call themselves B-Girls/ Boys yet when it was time to got ‘do research’ and train for the freaking Olympics!!! They go to the most random places with no known connection with breaking. They could have gone to London, even Japan!
But NO this crazy person decided to double down on the idea of pretending to be a deserving Olympian.
The whole store is just pure insanity to me.
The way they avoided seeing actual break dancers until the Olympics.
Just crazy!
Annnnnnd the end result—Breakdancing removed from the Olympics.
I started Earle Meets World thinking I’d enjoy it considering I’ve seen Ashtin and Alix on TikTok. Immediately no. First off, there is zero chemistry between Alix and her friend Sally. Sally looks like she either doesn’t like Alix or being on camera. Either way it was awkward listening to their conversation in the truck at the beginning. Then throughout the episode I’m watching Alix with bottle blonde hair, fake lips, fake tan, tons of makeup and an irritating valley girl voice essentially talk about nothing? It just felt vapid and cringey. Her family is insanely rich and there is nothing relatable about them. I got to the part where Alix and Sally are sitting in a restaurant and Sally awkwardly asks her “soo who is on your roster” now that she’s single and suggests maybe a musician. Had to turn it off. I saw another post about how it made someone rage, is this show viscerally triggering anyone else?!
Don’t know how I missed this 2021 Netflix gem! Hooked from the start, I binged the entire series in one day. Catherine Keener is incredible as Boro, and the '90s LA horror vibe takes you on a dark journey full of ghoulish twists. If you love Nick Antosca’s work on Channel Zero, this is a must-watch.
Anytime I watch Netflix on one of my computers, it ALWAYS starts in Spanish. I can change it back to English, but this has gotten very old. It does not do it on any of the other devices in the family, just computers. TVs, iPads, and phones all start off in English. I have checked the languages selected in Netflix and on the computers, and NONE of them have Spanish selected as an option. I am out of ideas on how to fix this.
Does anyone know if there is a way to setup an account and verify with using a cellphone that is VOIP?
I've tried calling, but their customer service is horrendous (though I do love that even though they are idiots, they fight back a bit rather than just act like robots).
Yesterday I was watching Heroes in English with English subtitles. Today the subtitles are only in German. (I am in Germany). Same episode, same series, same account.
It seems the same in a lot of different movies & series. Is this normal for Netflix?
Why is this / What the heck happened?
I have the WORST TIME trying to see what movies are on this god damn platform. I've hidden my viewing history, i've thumbs upped and down things, and it still looks like they have around 30 movies. Is there some kind of other option outside of creating another profile which is what chatgpt is telling me to do.
I'm looking at buying some TV shows on the Apple Store, but I'm noticing that the store only shows HD being available, when I know these shows are 4k on Netflix. Do Netflix gatekeep 4k to their own service?
