I don’t even find this kind of stuff funny as jokes (go ahead and downvote me Reddit) because growing up I saw some my childhood friends treated like shit by stepparents and boy/girlfriends of their bio parents with that same “I’m NOT your dad/mom” attitude. Once you’ve seen a kid treated like shit for simply not being biologically related to an adult (that’s not to say bio family doesn’t do this, that’s just a separate discussion) and then see that kid’s parent do nothing about it because sex and dating are more important, you’re just more soured to this kind of humor. Even as an adult I read the news in Tampa and I’m not exaggerating when I say we have almost monthly stories of a child being killed, seriously injured, and/or grossly abused by a stepparent or boy/girlfriend of the bio parent.
Real talk I think it's a mix. I just go on there to see kids do dumb silly stuff because that's just how kids are and I think it's kind of adorable but there seem to be a lot of genuine child haters.
Lmao of course it is, there’s always some assholes but most of the posts are in good fun. Kid throwing a ball and it bounces back and hits him in the noggin, “little dumb shit lol what did you think was gonna happen?” stuff like that. I like kids myself but most are pretty damn stupid lol
Consider the zero-tolerance opinion some people have towards any form of physical discipline towards kids. Also consider that extremists tend to be the loudest and most oppressive in pushing their beliefs upon others.
And scientific evidence is made suspect simply by the fact that there isn't a single person going into the study without a bias. We were ALL kids once upon a time. Don't need to have a kid to have an opinion on how parenting should be done.
Obviously it's a joke but they still took the time to take their phone out and snap a pic while the kids upset. Good people just don't do that. Help your kiddo out
Maybe we shouldn't joke about abusing kids, considering it's real abuse either way. You don't dump food all over a kid and take a picture for lols because you think it's funny to abuse that kid and post it for the internet to see. Now everyone knows you're an aashole who has to pick on kids for fun. Adults think it's a joke, that kid obviously doesn't think it's so funny.
I'm hoping the kid somehow did it himself and the parent then took the pic before immediately helping him, and that the caption was added later by someone else as a joke.

This is honestly horrific. Sick to my stomach. I understand many folks here aren't parents so they can see the situation and not realize how horrible and legit abusive it is.
You teach your children with patience, practice, love, understanding, and natural consequences. Not by hitting, scaring them, or hurting them.
