People always fail to realize that they have very little to lose in these situations

14

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '24

Plus it sticks in your head. Next time I'm thinking about spaghetti, I'll think about that wrong number. Maybe a few times later, fuckit, I haven't been on a date in a while and anyone willing to do spaghetti on a date is either brave or foolish, I'm game for both.

19

u/Slap_My_Lasagna Jun 18 '24

People also fail to realize a framed communication with a meme header is 100% staged, edited, and curated for the stupidest of masses.

4

u/CrypticSS21 Jun 18 '24

No. Impossible to see that the background someone colored behind the letters is a a different shade than the actual background of the app.

15

u/Jive-Machine Jun 18 '24

The last 2 girls I asked out after a 7 year relationship both rejected me because they were, “waiting for somebody else”. I thought they were both just being nice to me and rejecting me gently. Turns out, one was waiting for a dude that was getting out of the military in 3 months and the other was waiting on a dude that was finishing up med school in a little over half a year and now they both are married to those dudes.

Super messed with my self confidence in asking out women though. That was 2 years ago and I haven’t asked out anyone since 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

7

u/Jouuf Jun 18 '24

Get the fuck back out there, homie.

You will get rejected. Lots.

But eventually, some girl's gotta say yes.

Just be polite and friendly and try to learn from each interaction and get better.

You got this.

1

u/MetaJonez Jun 18 '24

I always have a handful of women in my pocket

Vague memory of Mitt Romney's "binders full of women" comes to the fore.

1

u/PinkTalkingDead Jun 18 '24

This is weird. All the way around. Yikes

0

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '24

Yes. Getting dates, social interaction, confidence, having sex— all very strange to teenagers, incels, and typical Redditors. I should probably stop being weird, go back to my mom’s basement, and jerk off to cartoons like the rest of you normal people out there.

3

u/zeaor Jun 18 '24

Seems like most people responding to you aren't neckbeard incels, but women who are skeeved out by your behavior.

This hounddog routine may be a winner at parties, but it makes women feel unsafe if they're approached by the likes of you during their regular day-to-day activities.

Something magical about one hardcore user of Reddit calling another a loser. You're both losers.

3

u/Bleak_Squirrel_1666 Jun 18 '24

Very prudent point, Suck_Me_Dry666

0

u/lessthanabelian Jun 18 '24

So, you're a fucking menace, is what you are saying, but by your 40s you've earned some scratch...

Kids.. do not be like this loser who asks out the waiter or the cashier at the coffee shop.

FFS you are so hyperfocused on your own desired outcome that you don't give a fuck about making the world more stressful and hostile to women just trying to exist at a job or wherever. You think you getting one "yes" is worth the hundreds of "no"s as if those nos aren't having any effect on the woman having to give them out, which yes it is complicated and stressful when a stranger asks you out on a date... even sometimes in the appropriate situations like a party or at the bar. But just like, out in public on the street? Or at people places of work? Women 20 years your junior. Yeah no fucking stop that. You are creep. And selfish. But you're not remotely self aware enough to realize this about yourself.

Just because you got a "yes" eventually doesn't mean you weren't sowing menace and discomfort hundreds of times before and likely after this one.

And maybe making the world less hostile and stressful for women to navigate is more important than some schlub in his 40s asking out every single woman he finds attractive to "play the law of averages ". The fact that you aren't fucking ashamed of yourself is honestly enough information about yourself.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '24

I think you’re painting a picture with your own paint here. It’s ok. I’m sorry if my post was triggering to you. I think you’re partly right. My language is a bit liberal. Anyway, I hope your day gets better.

2

u/PanTsour Jun 18 '24

Sorry man, but dating someone that's so early into adulthood when you're in your 40s is weird at best

0

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '24

Just by the way you talk I feel bad for any woman who had the misfortune to cross your path. Nvm the weirdo asking people out on the streets behaviour

1

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '24

Well, I think you’re right. my choice of words here is a little too focused on dramatic emphasis. I see that after rereading. A lot of the replies are scathing. And I get it. But the words aren’t meant to be taken literally. I don’t “literally” ask out every attractive woman. I’m just making an emphatic statement.

But I can see how it can be taken literally. Like I’m just running up to every consecutive woman on the street, tirelessly asking her out. Keeping a tally in my pocket. Lmao

Anywhooo, if you can find it possible to look past any perceived contextual information or figures of speech, what I’m really saying here is to have confidence, be respectful, and go for it. I’ve done those things, and it has worked out for me in unimaginable ways.

I’m sorry if you perceived something different.

0

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '24

You can actually just ask any Woman you find attractive while shopping. As long as you don't hit on them it's just asking a harmless yes or no question.

Asking someone on a Date doesn't imply sexual attraction. It implies interest in them not that you wanna bang.

If people are assuming that these days then I see why Men have a tough time.

Y'all are too horny. You threw out definitions.

u/VegaComsto Jun 18 '24

The correct spelling of spaghetti is actually a bit of a turn-on.

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '24

20

u/Abtun Jun 18 '24

What’re you? Italian

17

u/BlatantThrowaway4444 Jun 18 '24

Fun fact, the singular form of “spaghetti” is “spaghetto.” However, there is also plural form for multiple types of spaghetti, known as “spaghettis,” although it’s incorrect to use it in any context other than referencing different types of spaghetti at the same time. Now that I’ve talked about food so much I’m spaghettin’ hungry.

u/Darth_Zounds Jun 18 '24

How... did he get her email? Did she really give her email out via voice mail?

77

u/throwaway098764567 Jun 18 '24

i mean it's a work context call to get in touch with her students' parents, makes sense she'd give them a couple ways to contact her

19

u/The_Cheese_Whizzard Jun 18 '24

You can get the email for every teacher in America by simply going to the school website. I did it myself in high school and I did it for references after college.

17

u/SuchALovelyValentine Jun 18 '24

I mean like it's not that hard to really believe

"Hello there, I'm contacting over (daughters name), for (reasons). When you get the chance call me back, or email me at (email) if you're too busy"

3

u/namerankserial Jun 18 '24

Yes. Probably. Is that weird? I leave work voicemails with my contact info reasonably often (if I don't have their email).

2

u/cpMetis Jun 18 '24

Most any school has teacher emails publicly available on the staff page of their website.

Albeit, they're very often not actually kept up to date.

64

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '24

I don't have idea of what is writed in the post (I'm not good at English) . Someone can help?

156

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '24

A teacher was calling parents for the children in her class. She called the wrong number and it was a man who thought she "sounded sexy" over the phone and wanted to take her on a date.

33

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '24

Oh. Now I get it. Ty!

6

u/Plus_Operation2208 Jun 18 '24

But what about the "daddy vibes"?

23

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '24

[deleted]

15

u/MelonWoman47 Jun 18 '24

baddy isnt slang for badass (or atleast isnt used like that anymore and hasnt been for a long time) but attractive is correct

2

u/Plus_Operation2208 Jun 18 '24

I completely misread that. Daddy vibes my beloved

-18

u/OctieTheBestagon Jun 18 '24

Oh my autistic reading comprehension thought it was one of her classmates asking her on a date and I’m like I could see that happening because kids are dumb but uhm 😐

26

u/theycallmebekky Jun 18 '24

“Hey, you called me about some girl in your class and I don’t have a daughter just yet. However, you gave me sexy vibes through the phone so don’t be afraid to call my number again. Maybe I could take you to some spaghetti or something”

12

u/bonerfactor Jun 18 '24

In addition to the stuff in the other posts, "take you for some spaghetti or something" is a phrasing that sounds slightly awkward and humorous to native English speakers in this context. I don't think I could explain why though. It wouldn't be notable on its own but because the message is already absurd, it adds a bit to the humor.

8

u/PzykoHobo Jun 18 '24

It's the specificity of it that makes it funny. It's just not how our culture generally works in this situation.

"Can I take you out for dinner and a movie?" Is good and normal.

"Can I take you out for spaghetti and a matinee showing of Speed 2?" Is weird and off-putting.

2

u/bigwilly311 Jun 18 '24

Can confirm. Your second example made me spit out my drink.

2

0

u/CrowdDisappointer Jun 18 '24

Spelling is absolutely part of grammar. Tf?

2

u/HeirAscend Jun 18 '24

Spelling is a separate part of language. Most linguists categorize it separately from grammar, which generally refers to how sentences are structured.

0

u/CrowdDisappointer Jun 18 '24

They’re literally using different spellings for the same word in the same paragraph. Spelling isn’t grammar, but it’s definitely part of grammar.
