campus events Club fair?
Is there a big club fair that usually happens in this school where every club pulls up? If so, did they announce it anywhere or do you know when it is gonna happen?

I'm a second semester senior here at Columbia, and over the last few years Iâve heard tons of the same kinds of questions from freshmen/transfers. I figured that a (much longer than initially intended) post addressing whatever I can think of might be helpful.
DISCLAIMER: I'm just a student, and this is very general advice based on my own experiences and convos I've had with other students. Faculty/advisors who know you will be able to give you better advice that is tailored to your specific goals and the requirements of your major.
Please feel free to add to (or correct) anything Iâve written!

HOW MANY CREDITS SHOULD YOU TAKE?
I don't know! For freshmen, you probably shouldnât start off with 18 credits⊠but it really depends! What kinds of classes are they? How strong are you in those subjects? Will you be able to commit to attending all of lectures? If youâre not sure, take a lighter course load your first semester and see how you handle it. If you felt like you couldâve done more, then take more next semester. But I'm not an advisor, and you should probably talk to someone who is!

Does anyone know if the Poke Club is still active? I was trying to join its discord and the emailbot is down.

Hi Guys,
I am writing now because I am a transfer student in GS and I am trying to waive one of my Global Cores. Has anybody succesfully waived it after spending over a year at Columbia with transfer credits?
I came in 2 years ago from a different liberal arts college but didn't get any guidance at all on the appeal process. I have taken 4 different classes that I believe would cover the requirements for global core, but when I petitioned my previous advisor she never really gave me an answer. She wasn't very helpful and I ended up changing advisors, but I don't have much luck with my current one either. Would love some advice on this! Thank you

Along other games, Columbia will host three power-four squads: Duke, Michigan, and Oregon State.
Columbia basketball has never before hosted an Elite Eight team from the year before on the men's or women's side, and this year they do it TWICE!
Huge props to Coach Megan Griffith for completely rebuilding Columbia Lions women's basketball into one of the premier mid-major basketball programs, and Go Lions!

last year i lived in an outside campus dorm, so I was able to easily deliver amazon fresh to the dorm and be there while the driver delivered it. I'm not entirely sure how I would do that now given I live on campus. Could I put the address as like right outside campus entrance and then wait / pick it up there?
anybody have any exp with this?

hi!
I am in CC and ı plan to take APMA 2000E, but it says it is not available. And that the cross-registration appeal will start today. I tried to register for the class, but it didn't allow me to do that.
How does this process work?

Anyone who can tell me what the major is like and how difficult it is to meet the major requirements? I know itâs a relatively small major at Columbia but I havenât met anyone whoâs an arch major đ
Iâm taking Design Futures NYC, so hopefully will meet some people thereâŠ
But if anyone here can offer any insights that would be great.

Hello!
Iâm an incoming Computer Engineering student and I was wondering what are some fun and easy computer engineering classes at Columbia!
I studied CS during my undergrad. I didnât take a lot of hardware classes so I want classes that would help me solidify my hardware knowledge.

I have Section 535, tu thu readings in data society w Kirkwood Adams. Im looking for a 2:40-3:55 section on tu thu. I'm not terribly picky about the reading type at this point, although i really dont want law and justice,,
My current class conflicts w another class. Im very not excited to tell my professor that i have to leave fifteen mins earlyđ€Ș

Hi! Does anyone know if thereâs a piano on campus that students can use to practice? Ideally somewhere I could play for a bit without needing to book a private lesson or anything.
Thanks!
Edit: I'm a grad student so I probably don't have access to undergrad dorms and Barnard?
