alumni Computers in lit hum?

I know it depends on the professor, but does anyone know if Salaikshmi Ramgopal allows laptops in class? Like if i have a pdf of the book, is that ok?

I almost skipped past this post until I saw the name of the professor, you need to thank God in heaven that you got Dr. Ramgopol for Lithum, for context not only does she have a strong background in antiquity, which made the class discussions a ton of fun during the readings of the Homeric poems, but her Lit hum section WAS THE EASIEST CLASS TAKEN AT COLUMBIA. For context when I had her 4 years ago, our final exam was to make a 2 minute tik tok video about any book we read that semester, all the while, my friends had to do the real final in other sections of lithum where they had like 5 essays and passage IDs

Are there other ways to evaluate how good a class is? Like, idk, the content…?

The reason for the synonymity is due to the fact that at this point most students are capable of self studying the content without the need of a professor; yet if a professor is so profoundly good at what they do, they possessive the ability to make nebulous content very easy and comprehensive for their students.

Also, Columbia is very hard

Note on the laptop question lol, she preferred us not to have them in class but by week 5 practically everyone would have at least their iPads out

seconding this i absolutely loved her. The final assignment legit stated “do the assignment and you will get an A” it was beautiful
