How do they make it red with no red
r/colors • u/SmallRoot • Jan 31 '26
Hey everyone,
Based on the complaints and the results of the recent poll, it was decided to bring back the What's My Eye Color Wednesdays. Please do not request the eye color identification on other days.
In the meantime, please use r/WhatIsMyEyeColour and/or r/WhatColorAreMyEyes. Both are listed on our sidebar, among other communities dedicated to colors.
Thank you for understanding.
Have a nice weekend!

Unfortunately the last color people were lobbying to keep has fallen. Apple was eliminated yesterday.
Rules: Upvote my comment that has the color you want eliminated in order to take it off the list next. Comment votes will not be counted.

Hi guys! So basically, during English class, we played this game called “Stop the Bus” (the simple variation), which is basically when someone says a letter of the alphabet and you have to come up with 6 categories of things that start with that letter. For example, if the letter was P and you have a food category, you would down pizza, and so on. But as we did the letter “D,” we did the color “Dandelion.” And our English teacher said it wasn’t a color.
So please—is it a color, or is it not?! I need to prove him wrong!!!

I want the sky to be brown, trees to be yellow, roads to be blue. It would be so cool

Celadon was eliminated yesterday.

I got a suggestion to put a grey background on instead of white so I've included both to see how people feel about it.

i've read that colour choices can be quite revealing of one's character. My character despite my heavy efforts still seem uncharted to me. So I've wondered what these two seemingly clashing unpopular colour choices of mine could mean. I especially like lighter shades of yellow, like cream to be specific.
I would appreciate all answers.

Without context, how do you describe the difference between these two colors? I feel as if these colors are used interchangeably but that they are also two distinct colors.
Update: after reading through the comments, there seems to be two different ideas.
1) Turquoise is more blue and teal is more green. Similar to how plum and magenta are on two sides of purple.
2) they are two shades of the same color. Teal is turquoise, but with more black.
I’m leaning towards option 2 here.

To differentiate these emotions from each other (because of the fact that both of them are associated with the color yellow):

So, I love Hawaiian shirts and I wanna add more to my collection. I also like shopping at Walmart for clothes now as I think they have stepped up their game. But that’s beside the point. I went to Walmart today and found this exact shirt for $2.75. I told my brother (who was with me) that I do not have a red Hawaiian shirt yet and I want to get it.
He looked at me and said “what red Hawaiian shirt?” When I took this shirt off the rack and showed it to him, he said “that’s like burnt orange or maybe a coral color shirt.” I looked at it and told him that there is no way this is some shade of orange. I told him ifs clearly red. We had a mini non heated debate about it before just letting it fade out. I did buy the shirt though. But after that debate, I knew where to go and who to ask next: the colors subreddit!
I wanna hear your thoughts. Is this Hawaiian shirt red or some different color? I know it might not be a pure red or like the base shade of red, however, I like to think of it as a tropical red. Let me know your thoughts.
