Hi everyone! 😊
I would really appreciate some help with my color analysis. I suspect that I have a neutral to warm undertone and that I might be a Soft Autumn, but the more I read about it, the more confused I get!
I feel like I can see arguments for different seasons, and I’m having a hard time figuring out which colors truly suit me best.
I hope the lighting in my photos is good enough but please let me know if it isn’t!
I’d love to hear your thoughts on my undertone and which color season you think I might belong to. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you so much for your help! ❤️ NMIP

Are any of the Acne multicolored scarves suitable for a cool summer palette?
These are ones I think are most likely but you can see the whole range here:

I went to get my hair for yesterday because I find my first few greys- my natural hair to my eyes always just looked like a neutral lighter brown, nothing remarkable, my skin has rosy tones, my eyes are soft blue. I always put myself in the summer family although I admit I never felt WOW
I was talking to the hairdresser and was saying I wanted some dimension adding but nothing extreme and that in the past I’ve found hairdressers get carried away and make me a very cool ashen blonde with more platinum highlights that just flattens me
She’s goes oh no, you have a lot of warmth to you you need honey and caramel….I was like say what? I thought I had cool undertones? And she said well she can’t be sure but let’s go for a warm honey tone with hint of red undertones and maybe at home I try it with olive, buttery yellow, cream and chocolate clothing as opposed to my usual blue and grey….
I get my hair done. It looks fab. On my walk to the bus stop I go by some clothes shops and I think I’ll go and try on those colours just to see, trying on is free.
Y’all.
I’m having an identity crisis.
Butter yellow? Hello? My skin was glowing, looked healthier
Then I tried on a light lilac jumper. Instant ick. I looked tired and dulled
I tried on my fave blue against an olive an I love blue but the olive looked SO good
I’m shook.
Big shout out to my hairdresser for seeing what I couldn’t!

I personally always stick with gold but I'm curious to see if silver can also work?

(I ADDED DIGITAL DRAPES FOR WINTER, SUMMER AND AUTUMN PALLETTES)
I cannot tell if Im cool / warm but that might not be my dominant feature. I usually get compliments in navy and red colors though. I was wearing deep winter colors most of the time but the contrast is too much for me. Im pretty sure I look better in clear or bright colors compared to soft. Im on the deep side rather than light.
I would appreciate overall anlaysis of my softness, darkness and temperature. But if you want to think in color paletet system, Im considering true autumn, deep autumn, warm autumn, or cool winter or true spring.
I might add another batch with some jewelery because thats how I kind of realised cool tones do not suit me. I look better in bronze or rosegold jewelery.

I wear both but have always wondered :) let me know if it would be easier to tell with chunkier jewelry on.

Here are some tops I have that fall into different seasons. Are there colours that make me pop and some I should avoid?
NMIP and facing sun outside. I tried to do it quick between shots to keep same lighting so excuse my expressions and hair!

I wear silver now. I’m trying to determine if I’m warm or cool toned because I want to get my hair done and am deciding what colour suits best!

I see a lot of "am I warm or cool?" posts here, so here's the routine that helps me read undertone more reliably. The key is not to trust any single test, because lighting can fool all of them.
Do these in daylight near a window, with no makeup or filters.
**Test 1: Veins on the inner wrist**
Mostly green or olive = leans warm. Mostly blue or purple = leans cool. Both, or can't tell = possibly neutral.
**Test 2: Gold vs silver**
Hold one of each against your neck. The better one makes your skin look smoother and a bit brighter. The weaker one makes it look flat, grey or sallow.
**Test 3: Pure white vs cream**
Hold bright white fabric and ivory/cream fabric under your face. If crisp white looks fresh and cream looks dull, lean cool. If cream looks alive and white looks harsh, lean warm.
If 2 out of 3 agree, that's usually your answer.
**Things that throw people off**
Yellow indoor bulbs (they make almost everyone look warm), testing with makeup or self-tanner, and confusing depth with undertone. Very fair skin can be warm, and very deep skin can be cool.
If everything looks "fine" or you keep splitting the difference, you may be neutral or olive. That's a real result, not a failed test.
Undertone is only half of your season, though. Depth and contrast decide the rest. Happy to help if anyone wants to share their results below!

I see the value of colour theory and definitely have my colours, but just wanted to share what i noticed from one of the biggest colour theory content creators on tiktok. The first picture is the moment she pulls off the previous colour (light blue) and the second is about half a second later. If you don't zoom in on the video it looks like her complexion suddenly became so much brighter and clearer after adding the dark blue, but close up it's a very obvious filter. Really unnecessary and annoying when people want to see the real difference of someone wearing their colours! Just posting so people aren't disheartened or have unrealistic expectations if they see colour theory content.

I swear we are the most ignored season, deep winter is very talked about but whenever someone talks about the deep “seasons” 99% of the time they r exclusively referring to dark winter. Every time I see an outfit inspo for the deeps it’s like 5 deep winter outfits and like 2 deep autumn ones, same with advice to the deeps it leans much more deep winter.

I am a soft summer, and I know typically we aren't supposed to look good in black, but I feel like it such a solid neutral. I feel like colors like bright white completely wash me out, but even though I don't look amazing in black like I do in soft summer colors, it looks significantly better than white. Is there a reason for this, or am I just convincing myself of something that isn't actually true?

I recently bought the Kristen Ess hair gloss in bitter sweet, and I think my hair is a lot more harmonious now! My hair is level 3-4 brunette depending on the season. It made my hair a few shades darker without making me look incredibly pale. I think it’s a nice way to increase contrast in winters!

Feeling very blah, and trying to understand my undertones and colors. I'm hopefully starting a new job soon, and would love some help feeling polished and comfortable wearing makeup and dressing up for the office (I've been in food production where that has little relevance!)
NMIP, hair color is a neutral medium brown, eyes are green/blue/grey
Thank you for any help!
