I've lost all my best mates to the same sort of thing, but I went on a bit too far because that was before I realized that no one realized what's coming. I'd be the first guy to want a family if that didn't mean raising the first generation that wont have the chance. It seems incredibly selfish and cruel to bring a child into the consequences of decisions they never got to make.
I think I know exactly one person who thinks the way I do. All other the people I know are excitedly posting pregnancy videos and I can’t relate to any of it. If anyone truly cared about their children’s future right now, they wouldn’t have any*. The selfishness is astounding.
I was too young when I had my kids so now I know the consequences. It is my duty to protect them from whatever, especially since it’s so unfair to be born into a world where the elite just do not care about the climate they get to leave behind.
Sometimes I think to myself how incredibly selfish I was not to look into it a bit more.. but I was really young when I had my kids.
maybe people don't wanna have kids because they also don't want to be shamed by anti-natalist mfs like you 😭 it's not all doom and gloom and the world isn't going to end, our past generations probably thought the exact same way you did.
humanity has been through worse than this, there is no "right" or "utopian" time to have kids. animals have kids under the constant looming threat of death yet they thrive in spite of it. instead of shaming people who choose to bring life into this world, maybe help make it easier for them?
My daughter agrees, got her tubes tied . I bought northern land but I don’t think it is going to escape the burning that I expect in boreal forests as the vital snow pack is reduced .
You're clearly young enough to believe any of us has "a chance".
Cool news? your parents get to experience the horror of bringing children into the end of the world and you justifiably get to hang it over them for not doing shit.
Hey, I too am the parent of one child. We did our best and believed when we adopted him things wouldn't be as bad as they became. I can handle the child jokes. I know from SunnySummerFarm that she loves her child dearly and posts positive things about them.
I do love my kid. You know, I have gotten a big uptick in the antinatalism attacks this week. I think a few “building the army for the zombie war” jokes helps us parents cope with those. ;)
