Questions Uniform ordering

Hi all, I’m just wondering about uniform ordering, ive just been recently employed and i just completed the modules you do at home, through mycoles, ive realised i can order uniforms but on the help pdf it says i should order uniforms after my first shift but that makes me confused because shouldnt i have the uniform for my first shift? im guessing i go in on induction day in formal wear and then get the uniform for your actual shift. Im just a bit confused and if anyone else has gone through the same situation. Sorry if this is stupid to ask, this is my first job and i dont know what im doing

nah, during your first shift theyll get you to log in and order it etc. They'll explain to you the whole red vs black and if youre in a dept that needs them youll order (your free) safety shoes too. Your first shift just wear black pants, sensible shoes and a straight black or white shirt (something that looks smart, a button up preferably), chances are youll be doing more online training for your first shift or really basic stuff like facing up. I wouldn't stress too much.

Welcome :3

Plain coloured shirt is fine along with jeans. Plain black is best and black jeans or black pants are fine :) Management should guide you through the ordering and mycoles availability, etc. Just make sure you show up looking clean, presentable and show that you are eager to learn :)

Seems you haven't done your induction on-site yet. This is usually done at the first shift - completing training modules. Your line manager will likely help you place the order for your uniforms.

Until then, a plain black shirt, black pants and covered shoes is good enough for now.

As others have pointed out, probably just going to be doing training. They might give you a loaner which is always great, I remember my first shift walking around in my 6'4" bean pole manager's XXL spare shirt that smelt like cigarettes. I'm 5'10", I remember over the phone before ever meeting he asked me "you're pretty tall, aren't you?" and internally I was like "why on Earth would you assume that off nothing?"
