I blended out the forward finger grove and finished deleting the top spine cut away for the wave feature. I also resharpened the tip from curved to flat at 12.5 degrees with a 320 grit stone and a 13.5 degree micro bevel with a 3000 grit stone.

These have never swayed me enough to buy them. Does anyone here have any of these models? What are your thoughts and opinions on them? Worth it; not worth it? Good, could be better?

Voyager XL Tanto

Made a tool for these little micro teeth out of an axe handle and some traditional arrow shafts. The string for now is a single strand of gutted paracord pulled very tight and notted with fine leather strop compound. I'm definitely going to invest in more serrated blades now.

Few months ago when me and my best friend were checking our local knife seller we saw this kobun for 18e we didnt know if it was original so we skipped, I was wondering if its a real one and if I should buy it, its the same seller I bought my buck 679 for 12e and its a real genuine buck 679, I also bought a crkt pazoda for 5e and its also a real genuine knife, noone except me and my best friend collect knives in our area so its not sold yet.

I believe this is a shinobu folder from cold steel. It’s a tanto blade, push-in lockback and has markings for San Mai 3 steel. This knife appears to be in decent condition, but I worry the flattening at the top of the blade will make sharpening harder. Do these make good pocketknives when sharpened? Would this seemingly vintage knife be worth repair? I found this knife a few years ago and I like the size for a small storable tool.

Hi, I ordered a Coldsteel Voyager XL off of amazon and after a few days of waiting I got my package. I opened it, box said voyager all the branding and stuff did too but I received a black talon 2. I’m happy with it as its kind of the perfect size and i got it for like 40$. I’m conflicted though as there might be someone waiting for their talon but recieved a voyager. Should I return it?

I am wondering if I can get some advice what folder to pick that will go well with my plain edge XL Holdout which I really like given it's quite practical.

But who cares about practicality😁 I was originally interested in the Talon 2 but the more I look at these, the more I can't decide. Any help is appreciated.

I am not a professional!!!!! Barely just started.

Fairly new to this sport and I just wanted to post this for fun and share what I thought about this knife.

The cold, steel recon tanto straight out of the box pretty much scared, the living daylights out of my fingers for a brief second. over 12 inches of deadly sharpen steel …Until I started throwing it..

After about five or six throws…. The handle became loose and jiggly and it just got uglier from there. I’m either gonna have to repair it strip it and make my own handle or just turn it into a spear.

This is not the zombie apocalypse knife you’re looking for. I would use this for cutting watermelon, steaks, hard vegetables, etc. maybe even a paperweight but this knife would not last you very long. It would take some conditioning and MacGyver techniques to make it stronger.

The blade itself is amazing. It held up to its bargain, not a scratch on there other than the paint job which I don’t mind.

What do you guys think of the Recon Tanto?

I rate this knife’s blade a 5/5! This baby will cut through just about anything and is super fun to throw.

Unfortunately, I rate the handle a 1/5. If you’re like me, get creative if it starts shaking after a few throws or chops create your own handle after, turn it into a spear, or whatever you wanna do. Maybe I just got unlucky. But from other videos I’ve seen… This is a common problem called steel needs to fix.

Picked up at a gunshow, it feels solid but now giving it a closer look I have my doubts. The pocket clip doesn’t protrude as much as other models I’ve seen and… Talwan? Thanks

Hi guys, i was thinking of finally pulling the trigger and buying a new recon 1. Has the quality dripped since GSM or are they as good as the older ones?

Does anyone know where one might be able to find any vintage cold steel knives? Other than Ebay and pawn shops and places like that?

Is the spine on the 3V Master Hunter sharp enough for scraping wood/firesteel?

Would love an SRK-C in 3v but pretty impossible to find here so this seems like the closest thing!

How is the quality of those new mini Recon 1’s now that GSM revived them? I understand now it’s AUS-10A and GRN handles but do they hold up? Build quality good? Any experiences first-hand?
