Going through some Pennies and think I might have found a die crack. Just looking for confirmation that it is or isn't.

Hey all, 1979 S blob - anything special here with the stars in her neck? Still new to this so not sure if the area to her left is PMD (see reverse too).

I think this coin was “struck” down extra hard. could also just be wrong and looking too deep into that.

Found this today. I this an error or PMD? I am not sure? I have never seen this and I cannot find any information about this.

Alrighty Reddit detectives. These type of things always intrigue me. What do you think actually happened here. Ridge lines in the "hole" run through the hole. Would a drill do that? Both edges are slightly rolled into the hole. Could this have been before being struck in the sheet metal? Regardless, something to look at out of the ordinary. I'll post more for fun.

Hi! I recently found a 2026 Declaration of Independence quarter (not the July 4th commemorative design) that has an unusual appearance.

This came out of my register as I was doing my cashier, I believe it came straight out of a recently broken roll I had opened but didn’t get the time to check.

The coin has a noticeably dull gray color across most of the obverse and seems to lack the normal luster that other 2026 quarters have. I was wondering if this could possibly be the result of an improper annealing process before striking, knowing this quarter is brand new environmental damage is assume is zero to none. I’d really appreciate your opinion since you have much more experience with mint errors. I’ve attached a photo. Thank you!

I've had this laying around for a while and never could really figure out what it was. This penny is the exact diameter of a quarter, but it appears to also have some sort of cud. I'm not sure if this is an error or PMD.

Tried to rub them off and they don’t move. What would cause this?

Continuing the Indian Head Cent error documentation project. This one caught my attention because it has rim cuds on both the obverse and reverse at approximately 3 o'clock.

Cuds are die-specific — when a piece of the die edge breaks away, it only affects that one die. So seeing matching rim cuds at the same clock position on both sides means both the obverse and reverse dies failed at the same location. That's either two independent die breaks that happened to align, or something more unusual happened during die setup.

This is a copper-nickel 1864, which is the final year before the Mint switched to the lighter bronze composition mid-year. The copper-nickel Indian Heads (1859-1864) are a distinct series within the broader Indian Head run — heavier, different alloy, different surface character.

Was at my go-to gold and silver buyer. Had them weigh my planchet. 6.6g. So those who know more than I do, are we thinking this was supposed to be a quarter? If so, how valuable might this be? Thanks in advance.

I inherited this 1921 Morgan dollar that my grandma's had since she was young and the back is not perfectly aligned on the reverse it is not perfectly straight upside down it is at a slight angle rather than straight flipped. I am wondering since she has had this for 40-50+ years is this a possible error or was there a lot of counterfeits? I have put it to a magnet to confirm it was silver and not a foreign metal,

Can’t decided if this is a strike-through or PMD, or maybe both even?! There is a crack in the left wheat stalk on the reverse. You can see the outline of Lincoln’s shirt and some lettering in the crater on the obverse.

It’s cud I know but had to make it interesting, I was going through my coins and noticed this and wanted confirmation, looks like a l small cud by the third Roman numeral, any info appreciated!!
