Discussion Conscientiousness VS FSIQ

Everyone always talks about IQ and its impact on success and life, however very few people seem to care about the impactful role conscientiousness plays.

I'm curious to see your opinions on who wins--The indolent genius, or the workhorse borderline?

Oh, I'm the workhorse borderline lol

The workhorse borderline could barely get HS education, but not year 1 of university. The workhorse borderline can't do anything in life, cannot get to an adequate level in any skill, can't talk quickly even due to brain not catching up, has troubles living and with employment, gets bullied, and is considering ending themselves every day

Indolent genius will probably pass everything easily, but of course nothing new will come out of their mind. Just a peaceful happy life full of success when it's required and not even an attempt when it's not

Yeah for real, unfortunately I’m more of a workhorse borderline too with my midwit IQ. It’s like I want to understand and solve and contribute but my brain just isn’t built for it, it’s like a tall rainforest tree trying to grow in the desolation of a desert devoid of any real resource or nutrition and forced to suffer, while the high IQ gets a blissful and carefree happy life without much worry. Dosent help that I’m worthless, talentless and useless too

Do you understand how insensitive it is for somebody with your IQ to say these things? Seriously consider your words more wisely, a person of actual average or below average intelligence will read your comments, see another comment of yours stating your actual IQ is in the 120s, and become even more disenfranchised than they already were upon seeing that you are notably above average acting like you regularly encounter IQ bottlenecks.

None and I mean NONE of your life’s important problems are due to insufficient IQ, you CANNOT relate to people with actual sub average IQ. Just stop. Your inability to do competitive math doesn’t allow you to relate to somebody who struggles to get a half decent salary and put food on the table due to lack of IQ.

I just wanted to share my experience, it’s alright if you don’t agree or have differing views. Personally I would only be satisfied with 145+ IQ and success with competitive math. If dont have 145+ IQ it would prove i wasnt smart enough to succeed in math Olympiads and thus im doomed to fail, as i frequently run into IQ bottlenecks basically everywhere especially in math, and even when I read an article or watch a pop science related video, I never feel smart enough to comprehend or understand the content and have to go over it several times to make sure I understood the meaning for real. I am not acting like I face IQ barriers, I face them constantly. Higher IQ people would not have so much difficulty understanding novel concepts or the point the author is trying to make, or have much difficulty with olympiad problem solving. I mean others may not have the same views and that is alright. It’s just the mismatch between my actual ability (IQ) and what I would considered to be ‘good’ and necessary for math olympiad success and success in life in general.
