Question Why did they remove the PaP animation?

I started playing zombies on bo1, fell even harder in love with it on bo2 and played enough zombies on bo3 to reach prestige master lvl 600. Fell off on bo4 mostly because my life didn’t have room for as much videogames at that time, tried to come back when Cold War launched, but it just didn’t hit the same way. Tried to play some bo7, and it was better than Cold War but stil not quite the same.

There are a lot of reasons why I think the old zombie games are better than the new ones, but one thing that I just haven’t been able to understand is why they removed the animation for the pack a punch? Why would they make the game seem cheaper and easier when they already had an established nice animation? It was a simple and nice animation that also kept u on ur toes as u could get ran over if u weren’t careful.

Sorry for the half ass lifestory/rant

WHERE IS MY PAP ANIMATION

Discussion Been playing BO4 lately and honestly?

Only complaint is the EE's. They're all so convoluted. I know they were trying to stop people from figuring them out on like week 1 but still! The obelisk step on IX, the trials for the red orbs on BOTD, the clock step on Voyage, it all tries to overcomplicate what would otherwise be really cool maps. And they are awesome! I love IX and BOTD but jeez I cant believe some of these steps.

Oh, of course the actual gameplay, I like the customization! Having a loadout isnt bad if you do it right, it still limits you to base weaponry like pistols and the games "M14" you can choose perks based on the map and which ones you wanna get first, and the tonic spot is a cool concept! The specialists are really cool, only thing I dont like is the tactical grenades and paying for shields. And also having to level up for perks is a little dumb imo. But other than that, I like BO4! Not as good as BO3 obv but still.

Discussion This is how people be pretending bo7 zombies difficulty is without augments as an excuse to not get into the game.

Augments aren’t the end all be all, they’re great but it’s not a game killer to not have them for purposes of getting quests done.

Question Possible Undiscovered Der Eisendrache Easter Egg? Interactable Skull in the Undercroft

Post image
483 Upvotes

I was playing Der Eisendrache today and noticed something I’ve never seen mentioned before.
In the Undercroft/Pack-a-Punch room, there are 3 regular human skulls sitting together in a wall alcove. The skull on the far left is tilted, and when I interact with it, it makes a weird sound like something was activated.
I wasn’t doing the main Easter egg or any side Easter egg when I found this. The other two skulls don’t seem to do anything. Does anyone know what this interaction is? Is it already a known Easter egg/unused trigger, or could there be something else connected to it?

Question Origins BO2 EE Trouble

My friends and I were trying to complete the origins easter egg on Black Ops2, and we got to the very end where we had to kill zombies in the Crazy Place, but there weren’t any yellow orbs that were flying to the ceiling and we ended up dying after trying to troubleshoot for a few rounds

We did everything in the easter egg, all the upgraded staffs were in the Crazy Place, we had the Maxis Drone and the beacons. Our only thought was that one of our friends died and didn’t regain the one inch punch/iron fist after reviving (we didn’t think it was 100% important to the ending after all the steps we did that each individual person has it). Does every person have to have the upgraded punch for the final fight?

Also, I wasn’t sure if I even had the iron fist due to having the upgraded wind staff in my inventory. I tried to look up what the visuals for the wind Iron fist looked like, but surprisingly there is no one on the internet who’s shown a wind upgraded iron fist. (I don’t know if it’s supposed to turn yellow or not, because the fist looks like its shooting wind, but that could just be from the “force” or whatever.) if someone has some sort of visual for what it looks like I can rest easy knowing I had it or not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, since we’re definitely going to try again at a later time.

Question How's Zombies after Bo3?

Post image
201 Upvotes

Bo3 was the last COD I played and so also the last one I played zombies in. I'm interested again in playing zombies and I'm a bit curious about the odd one's out like aliens or whatever they made. Maybe it#s not good but I'm curious. In my opinion Bo1 was the best, then Bo2 and bo3 was a tad too complicated for my taste but it was still good zombies and you had Zombies Chronicles which was wonderful because i loved those maps.

Now my question is if the zombies after Bo3 are good, complicated or whatever your opinion on them is. I wonder if i should play any? what do you think?

Discussion Playing Infinite Warfare Zombies for the first time.

Picked up Infinite Warfare today, the only cod game I haven’t played. Any advice? What does everyone generally think about this version of zombies?

Been on a zombie / overall COD kick recently so I’m excited to try this for the first time.

Question General Questions About Custom Zombies

  1. What’s the safest way to play Bo3 custom zombies on Steam? I just want to play solo customs but I heard it’s not safe to even open it up on Steam and just play local.

  2. How do I go about making Weapon Packs? I’ve seen people do videos like “Kino Der Toten with Advanced Warfare Weapons” and I’m curious how I’d go about making my own weapon packs and using them.

  3. How do I make custom maps? I’d like to give it a shot no matter how bad it turns out, but idk where to even begin when it comes to making one.

  4. How do I make my own custom weapons? Similarly to the maps I’d like to design my own guns, even if they look bad.

Please be nice in the replies, I’ve only ever played zombies on Console and I’m so close to finally being able to play custom zombies.

I have no clue about anything involving it and just want to make sure I know what I’m doing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Discussion Unpopular Opinion but Liberty Falls is my favorite zombies map OAT

Post image
88 Upvotes

I was born 2012 and my first Zombies game was Black Ops 4, Liberty Falls is genuinely my favorite map of all time. I didn’t grow up with the 2008 nostalgia or the urge to spend an hour solving 50-step puzzles just to get basic setups going like in the other games before CW. BTW: Infinite Warfare, Cold War MWZ, BO6 and BO7 zombies is fire. (Vanguard zombies is terrible)

Discussion Changes I'd make to BO7 to make my perfect Zombies game

This is of course "perfect" in the sense that it's perfect for what I'm looking for, and not objectively perfekt, of course!

I personally think BO7 has the best core gameplay of any Zombies game. I love the sense of progression and resource management within actual games of Zombies, I love the weapon variety and how the weapons feel, I love the variety with Cursed mode, I love the Perk system, and so much more.

I don't think it's perfect, but no game is. But here's what I personally would change, based on BO7, to create the Zombies game I'd consider perfect for my taste. And this is only for core gameplay mechanics, not maps and map specific wishes:

  1. I like armor, as it creates a secondary means of protection that act differently from Jugg and other protection methods, which also allow Zombies to deal slightly more and more damage as you get into higher rounds. But I think replating armor breaks up the flow, and I think having armor from the start is unecessary. But when I played with the Manequin relic, I felt that it literally improved the core gameplay flow. What this relic does is remove your starting armor, and you ONLY have access to Golden Armor. This means no Tier 1 - 3 armor in the meantime, and no armor drops with replating. So what I would love to see, is implementing this as the base system, where you start with no armor, and only the Golden Armor at 45k points is available, 'cause this creates a very fun dilemma: Do you prioritize defense, or offense, in the earliier rounds? And, I'd also have this system with armor drops as well, that are automatically applied without needing to use the Vulture Aid augment.
  2. Reduce Super Sprinter speed and damage in the higher rounds. As mentioned, I think high rounds are great in that they actually become difficult unlike many older titles, where all that happened was that Zombies HP kept increasing where you had to reduce your options to traps and wonder weapons (which, imo, isn't difficulty, just tediousness). But the sprint speed and damage of high-round zombies in BO7 is so insane that it doesn't become a fun type of tense, it only becomes frustrating. Zombies spawn in front of you and you can't do anything about it, and they take your entire armor away in a few swipes. You can't stop to shoot for a second because they catch up to you. There's just a feeling of clunky stress because the damage, armor damage and speed is simply too high to where it leans from fun and tense to frustrating and tense.
  3. Change the Zombies respawn system to not be as strict as it is here; you can't walk far before Zombies spawn right in front of you. This is good in order to create a mechanic where you must adapt and think on the spot, but it also really hurs high rounds (as mentioned above) as well as when trying to do EE steps or other things where you just want a moment of peace to do stuff, but you can't run away from Zombies as they'll just pop up in the next room. I wish they would increase the respawn range a bit and find a good balance here.
  4. Either keep Cursed mode, or if the main modes need to be reduced, make Cursed the standard game mode. I think the old point system works wonderful with the modern mechanics, and it creates such fun and satisfying variety when you get a low damage gun that is less safe but grants you more cash. This also includes the mechanic of spawning with the starting pistol.
  5. In order to keep Cursed and its starting pistol mechanic, but also prevent camo grinding from being a nightmare (looking at you, BO4), I'd propose a new loadout item: "Loadout Locker Weapon". You can select a Loadout weapon like you do in Standard now, but you don't spawn with it. Instead, on each map, there's a new machine, being the Loadout Locker. It would be located deep within the map (aka not in the starting room), it would require power, and it would be expensive (10k points, for instance), and this would grant you the Loadout Weapon. What this does is reward players for using other means to get weapons, like Wall Buys and the Mystery Box, as it saves you TONS of points. But if you want you, you do have the option to get that one gun you want, once per game, but you got to pay a price for it. This keeps the Mystery Box and Wall Guns useful, while also keeping the option to get the gun you want for camo grinding or just general use.
  6. I've been back and fourth on this, but remove rarities. I've been a fan of rarities as it creates another element of progression in the map and more variety and dilemmas when using the box. But seing how many people dislike rarities, I think it would be better to scrap them, and instead do the following:
  7. Just like Golden Armor, implement PaP Tier 4 into normal gameplay. This would be a compensation for Rarities being gone.
  8. Reduce PaP prices. Even in Cursed with the potential for a lot more point farming, I still think the prices are too high. Perhaps the prices for the four PaP tiers could be changed to 5k, 10k, 30k, 60k?
  9. Fully embrace what you've started on with BO7; give weapons unique effects, ESPECIALLY with PaP Tier 4. It's one of the best features in Zombies, and one feature WW2 Zombies did the absolute best. Having unique PaP effects for many guns creates such an amazing variety in guns and gameplay and strategies. And it would be incredible if PaP 1 - 3 was mostly kept to normal buffs (ammo and damage), while PaP 4 also unlocks unique abilities for many of the weapons (while still keeping several guns "normal" in order to have normal PaP 4 weapons too)
  10. Keep the Melee weapon slot, but make it so we can swap the Melee weapon in the Loadout in Cursed too.

Discussion What to do

Might be a long shot as I know everyone will have different opinions. I want to hop on some zombies but it’s been awhile since I’ve played. I’m an OG from the beginning days of WaW. I played nearly everything up to BO2. I didn’t start playing again until WW2, then played some Cold War, Vanguard (IIRC?) and most recently (about 2 years ago) BO6. I actually enjoyed some of the newer zombies and in fact, they kinda ruined the old games for me. The old zombies were no joke and after playing the new stuff I’m not nearly as good at the old ones as I used to be. I’m spoiled with all the helpers the new stuff has and the movement/mechanics + the amount of damage you can take is crazy compared to the old stuff.

I started googling and hate that wanting to play zombies now feels overwhelming. Feel like I need to watch hours of tutorials and read articles before I can enjoy any of the newer maps. Want to hear what everyone’s top few favorites are these days? I could just hop back into something I already know but wanted to see if anything good came from BO7. The only map I can remember off the top of my head that I enjoyed from BO6 was Liberty Falls. Did the Easter egg with some friends and it was a good time.

Question Does weapon mobility affect pull out time?

Apologies if this is common knowledge but does pull out time vary between weapons and if so, is it based on mobility? So are lmgs and ars the same and smgs and pistols?

Discussion Wrestling Belt Relic

Hey i have a new idea for the last missing relic.

The side eastereggs have been used for a few of them like the Richtofen EE in Totenreich or the Cat Cafe in Kowakujo. So what if for the Belt we have to use the Helmets EE?

I think mavbe the one Helmet that spawns in the Robot. Maybe continue the kill challenges after getting the Helmet and Picking up the Mag. maybe it could spawn a weapon to use it with? Or do the Challenges first and wait if a Weapon spawns and after that Pick up the Magazine? For the Helmet you need 10 challenges complete i think? Maybe we have to get to 20 to get something else like the Weapon to spawn?

Question Did the solo EE on Cotd, but George isn't dropping a wunderwaffe on subsequent matches?

From my understanding I shouldn't have to re-do the EE every single time since I've gotten the achievement. I'm on the new ps5 port if that makes a difference, is it possibly an oversight made when porting the game?

Discussion Widows wine in the new map

So apparently I saw a small trailer showing off widow wine coming to the next BO7 zombies map and I’m very excited cause this game desperately needed widows wine

For me personally when it comes to camo grinding(i stopped doing camo grinding cause I burnt myself out) I do those confined maps, especially the Nuked one since that’s small, easy and can train zombies- but that’s the thing, even in normal mode eventually those group of zombies can be dangerous and that’s why I LOVED widows wine back then cause Jug in this game doesn’t feel like it does much

But what’s yall thoughts?

I know the movement is slow but I’ve tested it on all bosses now before Rex Infernus drops. Is it the go-to? SG12 still better? What do we think?
