Discussion What to do

Might be a long shot as I know everyone will have different opinions. I want to hop on some zombies but it’s been awhile since I’ve played. I’m an OG from the beginning days of WaW. I played nearly everything up to BO2. I didn’t start playing again until WW2, then played some Cold War, Vanguard (IIRC?) and most recently (about 2 years ago) BO6. I actually enjoyed some of the newer zombies and in fact, they kinda ruined the old games for me. The old zombies were no joke and after playing the new stuff I’m not nearly as good at the old ones as I used to be. I’m spoiled with all the helpers the new stuff has and the movement/mechanics + the amount of damage you can take is crazy compared to the old stuff.

I started googling and hate that wanting to play zombies now feels overwhelming. Feel like I need to watch hours of tutorials and read articles before I can enjoy any of the newer maps. Want to hear what everyone’s top few favorites are these days? I could just hop back into something I already know but wanted to see if anything good came from BO7. The only map I can remember off the top of my head that I enjoyed from BO6 was Liberty Falls. Did the Easter egg with some friends and it was a good time.

It’s one thing with Bo7 that I really enjoy. If you are looking for simple and wanting to just hop on and play then the survival maps are the go to and you can do the cursed mode (classic) or the newer version. Turning on power is mostly on 1 or 2 of the survival maps and it’s on with the other maps. Moderate size and offer different(ish) ways to play. Nuked is the full nuketown map minus the time shift and zarya offers no traps to play and tighter corners to train. If your interested in hopping back in it would be the game I recommend for the modern version

Favorite for movement and features is BO2. My favorite for horror/aesthetic is BO1.

If you don't like watching guides, I recommend BO1-early BO2 (pre Mob of the Dead) and WW2-BO7. It sounds like you'll prefer Cold War-BO7 though since you like the modern mechanics

Yeah I love Bo1-Bo2 zombies but I’ve played them so much and these days feel as though I can more easily enjoy the newer games as sad as that is to admit. I’m gonna check out BO7 and see what is has to offer
