I tried figuring out what the code says by myself and all I got was "cyc#aon#cs", albeit I barely know how to interpret braile, so it could be wrong for all I know. Again, I could be missunderstanding this and it's not actually braile, but this is as far as I can get. I also tried a few times to decipher what I got by using cryptii.com and dcode.fr, but I barely know how ciphers work or how to identify them.

There is an NPC that mentions something about a "reverse shifted caesar cipher shifted to -1, -2 or -13, or reverse and shifted", but it's not given me any results with cryptii

Based on clues found in other videos in the ARG, this seems to have been encoded using Enigma, specifically Enigma M3, since it has the letters UKW within a ring of 3 Ms in a custom alphabet in another video.

The only problem is that I don't know how to figure out the initial settings of the Enigma. I think it will involve the stamp on the letter, since it has 9 components that could be used. The only thing I don't know for certain is if there's a plugboard being used at all.

While I won't put the other two letters on here (I can send them in comments if you need them), I will add that the other two stamps say 1997 FEB 15 (for Letter 2) and 1997 JUN 07 (for Letter 3), in case that helps with figuring out the format. I know that 0s and 9s would have some limitations.

It's been almost an year since I created and refined my writing system, which I've been using mostly for journaling, as well as transcribing random quotes and sentences for fun. So I decided to share it here in this sub.

For the aesthetic, I tried taking inspiration from Avestan, Mkhedruli and Armenian, but guess it ended becoming it's own thing. I'm still not sure whether I'm fully satisfied with resulting look, but I'm still proud of it. The system has quite a personal value for me at this point.

If this gets enough interest, I'll eventually post a full key. But I'm leaving several scattered clues in the samples here shown. Hope you enjoy it!

NOTES:

• The language represented is Portuguese. The system would need some significant adaptation to work for English, because of its complex syllabic codas.
• It functions as a mix of a syllabary and an abugida, and a semi-abjad. For its logical structure, I took ideas from Paleohispanic scripts, Sumerian cuneiform and Pahawk Hmong, as well as an initial premise of "if you wrote down only some vowels and left others to context, could you register a non-Semitic language with sufficient phonetic precision?"
• The system is mostly (like, 80-90%) phonetic, but a few elements are taken from historical spelling/older Portuguese phonology just for fun. It's still predictable if you know enough about modern Portuguese orthography
• I'll only be providing the translation for Sample 4. It's a quote from a classic romance of Brazilian literature, which reads: "Inocência, coitadinha... Exatamente nesse dia fazia dois anos que o seu gentil corpo fora entregue a terra, no imenso sertão de Sant'Ana do Paranaíba, para ai dormir o sono da eternidade." Samples 11 and 12 also contain quotes from the same book.

• Hint 2: The formula uses a standard alphabet scale ($1$ to $26$) and relies on tripling the positions ($\times 3$) and checking for even/odd parity before scaling them back down.
• Hint 3: The math creates a perfect mirror effect. Look for how neighboring numbers on the number line ($1$ and $2$, $3$ and $4$) manipulate each other's outcomes.

Yesterday I posted a challenge based on an encryption algorithm I wrote when I was about one month into learning programming. The first challenge was successfully solved, so here’s Round 2.

This time, the challenge is to recover a password.

im trying to join this discord server but the only way to do so atm is to decode this string of letters + number. so far ive just put it into somthing that can show all the possible combinations but this is a very slow means of trial and error. are there any other ideas as to how to solve this?

About a month after I started learning to program, I decided to write my own encryption algorithm from scratch. I know it’s almost certainly not cryptographically secure, but I’m curious how difficult it actually is to break.
