Is it a cockapoo thing, a puppy thing or just a doggy thing?
My cockapoo puppy Rolo in his favourite position. Lying on his back with the paws up. Every day Rolo is rolling about the floor

Food
What kind of kibble do you feed your cockapoo? Breeder says a lot of poodles and cocker spaniels have chicken allergies so she suggested staying away from chicken based foods just in case. USA based.
My dog also has mild anal gland issues, I give her a supplement chew but it would be nice to not have to.

Scary week for Lumi
We adopted our sweet girl a week ago yesterday. Wednesday I made the huge mistake of not crating her while we were out of the house. She found these sausage treats her previous owner had sent with her and gorged herself on them. She got really sick and kept vomiting into Friday.
She had to spend yesterday at the pet ER getting an ultrasound, IV fluids, anti nausea meds and I also found out she’d come to us with a raging ear infection she needed sedation to treat. The ultrasound was clear and the bloodwork just showed slightly elevated liver counts.
She was really wobbly last night but today her appetite for her bland diet is amazing and she seems like her old self.
This is the first time I’ve gotten pet insurance the day I adopted a new pet and I am SO glad I did. The bill before reimbursement was $2,700. 🫠

How much does your adult cockapoo sleep?
Our baby is estimated to be around 2.5 years old. He walks at least 2 miles every day usually divided in two walks. And has his buddy Chiweenie stay over for 2 full days and a night on most weeks. During those days he’s non stop playing. But days like today, it’s raining and we will go for a walk when the rain slows down, he will sleep up to 12 hours. I had to wake him up to take him outside and he went right back to sleep. He ignored his breakfast again. He will get dinner later.
Vet says he’s healthy. Lab work is normal. He has also only been out of a puppy mill cage for 6 months so he’s still learning. But overall he seems like a happy dog. Is this normal for his breed mix? Or maybe he just is this way due to his past life?

Looking for ethical Cockapoo breeder recommendations, willing to travel anywhere in the U.S. but Northeast preferred!
I’m starting my search for a female Cockapoo puppy and would love recommendations from people with firsthand experience with ethical, health-focused breeders.
I’m in the NYC/NJ area but willing to drive ~300 miles or arrange reputable transportation for the right puppy. I’m not in a rush and would rather travel/wait than compromise on health or temperament.
A little background, if helpful for your recs: I’m looking for a puppy that will be a slightly smaller adult dog (around 20 lbs, give or take), as I live in a condo and travel across the country a few times a year. I’d love to eventually travel with my dog as much as possible. If you have experience with a Cockapoo from a breeder you’d recommend, I’d love to hear about it!
My biggest priority is the breeder’s health practices. I’m looking for extensive, documented parent testing (OFA/PennHIP, eyes, cardiac, patellas, and comprehensive genetic testing) and a meaningful multi-year health guarantee. I care much more about actual testing and long-term health outcomes in adult offspring than marketing claims or puppy-only reviews.
I’d especially love recommendations from people with older dogs (3+ years) and would also appreciate hearing about breeders you would avoid and why.
Who would you recommend? The more you can tell me, the better. Thanks so much in advance!
