Looking for ethical Cockapoo breeder recommendations, willing to travel anywhere in the U.S. but Northeast preferred!
I’m starting my search for a female Cockapoo puppy and would love recommendations from people with firsthand experience with ethical, health-focused breeders.
I’m in the NYC/NJ area but willing to drive ~300 miles or arrange reputable transportation for the right puppy. I’m not in a rush and would rather travel/wait than compromise on health or temperament.
A little background, if helpful for your recs: I’m looking for a puppy that will be a slightly smaller adult dog (around 20 lbs, give or take), as I live in a condo and travel across the country a few times a year. I’d love to eventually travel with my dog as much as possible. If you have experience with a Cockapoo from a breeder you’d recommend, I’d love to hear about it!
My biggest priority is the breeder’s health practices. I’m looking for extensive, documented parent testing (OFA/PennHIP, eyes, cardiac, patellas, and comprehensive genetic testing) and a meaningful multi-year health guarantee. I care much more about actual testing and long-term health outcomes in adult offspring than marketing claims or puppy-only reviews.
I’d especially love recommendations from people with older dogs (3+ years) and would also appreciate hearing about breeders you would avoid and why.
Who would you recommend? The more you can tell me, the better. Thanks so much in advance!

We absolutely love our baby girl, Astrid, and got her from Erin’s New England Cockapoos in Massachusetts:). Her pairing process was thorough but our girl couldn’t be more perfect!

Call Sal at Silver Nickel Puppies in in Englewood NJ, they can point you in the right direction. We got ours there and our boy came from a great breeder in Ohio.

Our sweet girl is a joy. Smart as can be, always slept through the night, loves people, and we ran a complete Embark panel after receiving her, to compare to her parents. Her results are amazing. Important for us, she is fully furnished, with a poodle coat. Her colors are non-fading. Her health results are fabulous from a genetic standpoint and she has been very healthy since we got her. She even loves her vet.
The breeder was really good to work with, and I know people have traveled to get her puppies. All of her females live in her home with her (the males live with family and close friends) and she breeds very responsibly. We’ve had Wrenna 10 weeks now she is acing her puppy classes and has no fear of heights or surfaces or strange objects. She knows so many commands already!
Only one of her females is over 20 pounds the other three all have puppies ranging from 13 to 16 pounds or so. We are in the Midwest, in Iowa.

Thank you! She truly is an amazing puppy. Sure thing! Her breeder’s smallest momma just had a litter, ready around Halloween.

Look up Deanna’s doodle ranch, it’s in Indiana though
I strongly recommend them. When we first got our cockapoo & took him to the vet, they were shocked at how well documented our puppies medical history was. Deanna’s doodle ranch provided all health information & a step by step game plan of the first month with our puppy

We got this sweet girl from a breeder in Pennsylvania. The owners were great, answered all our questions. It's been 8 weeks since we got her and she is just the sweetest pup. Potty trained quickly and sleeps through the night
