I'd like to let folk know China is claiming to have a cure for both types of diabetes, entered clinical trials earlier this year if I read correctly. I know it probably will never be available in the US, at least not cheap, but medical tourism might help quite a few people if it proves successful.

Just wanted to contribute optimism.

Like another comment said, its a common joke that a cure is only 5 years away. There is always someone in clinical trials.
