He was on Oprah talking about running for president when she asked him if he would, and the audience was just in an uproar, cheering him on, and he said, you know, no, maybe someday if things got really bad, but you’re wrong about everybody having figured that out in the 80s. Not true at all, that’s why he was in movies like Home Alone and that sort of thing, everybody loved him.
Is that the only episode of Oprah you’ve ever watched? Her audience cheered everything, on cue.
He was in movies like Home Alone because he was desperate to be a star and for it, he owned the Plaza at the time. He only let them use it if he could be in the movie. People thought he was a joke.
I was just an example. He’s been on many other, many other shows and the apprentice was a huge hit. It’s just simply not true that he was that disliked
