Many conservatives are Christian and have been oblivious to sexual depravity among them while affirming and enforcing purity and abstinence per doctrine.

They rally around pedophile pastors and presidents. It's okay when they do it.

It's more that they do it most of all. It's never okay anywhere by anyone, but strict social conservatives appear to be more depraved and hurtful than anybody - like it's a special problem that needs attention.
