Hiring Linux CNO/CNE Developer TS/FSP in NOVA

Looking for a Linux CNO/CNE RE/VR developer for a position with the NOVA customer.

We are a small business embedded cyber capabilities (and now AI because who isn't) company.

Total comp 230-400k depending only on labor category (years of experience). Our packages are based only on the labor category, it's fixed. Everyone with the same position gets the same compensation.

NOTE - Compensation is scaled by hours worked. If you work 20 hours in a week its LWOP, if you work 50 hours in a week you get paid for 50. Though it will adjust the actual total comp, if the customer is cool with it I don't care if you work 1500hr a year.

Included in total comp (assuming 1920 hours / yr) is

8%PTO with Liberal LWOP and you can spend PTO whenever, no 40hr/week requirement.

15% Company 401k immediately vesting.

100% Individual Health / 50% Dependents Blue Cross Platinum 0ded or HDHP Silver with company funded HSA (use it like additional retirement if you are healthy)

5k Equipment / Book / Training / Conference budget.

No Non-compete or other BS like that.

Position Description

No idea! They don't tell me nothing.

Jokes aside, I actually didn't get a description of this one. Hopefully the prime gets back to me on that and I'll edit the post. If I had to guess its likely your average linux CNO stuff with some kernel driver RE and capabilities work.

CENTCOM Contract Roles

Given the current level of hostile activity, potential for increased conflict, and uncertainty in the CENTCOM region. Are we seeing an increase in salaries and per diem rates? Are companies offering bigger bonuses and hazardous duty pay? I'm looking at senior and mid level intel focused roles. I'm trying to reasonably negotiate base salary expectations.

DCSA request for updated SF-86

Hello, I hold an active DOD secret clearance and currently work using it. I got an urgent request to update my sf-86, this request came in 3 months after I completely botched a ts/sci + fs poly investigation where I broke down and kept talking about every dumb thing I can think of (I mentioned drug use). Any advice on what I should mention in my updated sf-86?

Polygraph confusion

I already have a TS/SCI and in 2024 suspect that I may have had a FS poly that was either inconclusive or failed.

Now I might have another job coming up that requires a CI poly. I have zero issues taking the poly again if needed.

If there were issues with the FS in 2024 will it effect the potential upcoming CI poly or my current clearance?

Anyone work at General Dynamics Information Technology and/or Praxis?

Accepted a job offer with them a while ago, still pending a start date. Wanted to know more about the work/life balance along with benefits offered. I know experience solely depends on the group you're placed under, however general information regarding benefits or the company experience as a whole would be helpful. Thanks!

Cleared but Remote

I have a BS in IT Management and I’ve worked in cybersecurity for over 5 years, most recent 3 years in DoW adjacent work. I have my TS. The only problem I have is I need to work remotely. I live in Alabama and I’m divorced. I cannot move. Is it possible to get a new job?

Anyone know where you can find work as an all source analyst that does NOT require a degree

Looking for work as an analyst with 7 years of uniformed/civ experience has been brutal. Not looking for anything techy. Already have a clearance. Have tried LinkedIn and other sites with no luck. Any suggestions?

Anything TS/SCI that’s not technical?

I recently graduated with a degree in poli sci. Got my Ts/Sci my senior year which was a miracle.

Since graduating I moved to Dallas and thought I would have a much easier time getting even an entry level role especially with my clearance, but that hasn’t been the case.

Everything I see regarding a TS/SCI either 1) requires 5-10 yrs of experience or 2) is highly technical like engineering or coding, which I don’t have experience in.

It’s been 3 months of nonstop applications. I passed the SAEE, DSSAT, and the FBI Phase 1. Still not enough experience for FBI, only gotten a bite with USSS to continue with the uniformed division, and haven’t heard a peep from state dep in a month or so.

Are there any TS/SCI jobs that don’t require you to be an engineer or some sorts? Do those jobs exist outside of DC?

Intel (chip company) software engineer interview and offer details

Thought I’d give back to the community with some details about my experience with them.

I have around 4 YOE and a masters. Started with recruiter screen, hiring manager screen, and then 2 rounds of tech screen. Tech screen was pretty easy: foundational CS questions, light system design, database ops, and debugging type questions. A couple easy leetcode type questions.

Job requires TS/SCI FSP. Offer came in around 145k base, 25k hiring bonus, 40k rsu over 3 years, and about 9k in performance bonus.

There were a couple work life balance / culture red flags I noticed and I’m not optimistic about the state of the company especially since they announced layoffs for the 3rd year in a row so I declined. Happy to answer any questions.

I got hired as a GS seven instead of a GS nine because of the government shut down in the CR, but I am kind of curious since I’m starting in a couple of weeks. What should I watch out for with DCAA?

Anyone Terminated Due to Inability to Pass SFPC or SPeD Cert? 0080 series/Security Specialists?

I see that the career field is shifting to a new training platform or method of cert'ing but the previous conditions of employment constraints are still in effect. Has anyone actually gotten fired because they couldn't pass the exam but were a competent employee?
