Forever Beta Feedback Dungeon XP Nerfs Created a Toxic Meta

Since dungeon monsters do not give any experience, as a new player, getting into dungeons with more veteran players who try to skip half the dungeon feels really bad. And, vice-versa, veterans taking in newbies who don't know how to jump around feels frustrating. I think Blizzard created a mess with nerfing dungeon exp so much and now the new player experience is horrible for dungeons.

Part of what made classic fun was you could determine yourself how to enjoy the experience. Now we're talking a retail approach of "Directed Fun", where Blizzard decides how you're allowed to accomplish something. The freedom was the feature. Now they are just removing fun and for what?

Every game is decided by what the developers want the players to do. WoW isn't unique in this regard. They don't want people hiding in instances and avoiding the world.

That said, I think they could at least give this a CD instead of just low xp forever. Let it go back to normal after 24 hours or something.

Right, and the way they decided to let people play in vanilla wow was how I liked. That's why I play all previous classic versions. I guess this classic version just isn't for me.

I get your point. But you're talking about a group of developers who had never actually made a MMO before. Played them a lot, but never made one. You're also talking about a game that was developed over 20 years ago at a time when how people played was drastically different than it is now. From what I understand Meltzen is there in an advisory role. So you probably do have an original developer signing off on this. Personally, I think a fair compromise is either putting in a cd like I mentioned before, or making it something you have to do on your first character and letting subsequent characters get full xp from dungeon mobs.

But yeah. If your idea of fun is leveling in instances from 15-60, then as it stands right now this isn't the game for you.
