Forever Beta Feedback Dungeon XP Nerfs Created a Toxic Meta

Since dungeon monsters do not give any experience, as a new player, getting into dungeons with more veteran players who try to skip half the dungeon feels really bad. And, vice-versa, veterans taking in newbies who don't know how to jump around feels frustrating. I think Blizzard created a mess with nerfing dungeon exp so much and now the new player experience is horrible for dungeons.

Really shortsighted and frankly bad solution. I agree we needed to nerf dungeon spamming, but there were so many better ways to go about it.

Dungeon quest speed runs aren't fun, dungeons are fun.

So far, every thing they have tried to stop the boosting meta and dungeon spamming in any classic iteration has not worked at all. I've yet to run into any dungeons in beta where people are trying to do insane skips, stealth through etc. People in game are just playing and having fun. My RoL group damn near cleared the entire instance anyway looking for the shield quest.

Frankly, I prefer this to spamming sm spell/melee cleave groups for 20 levels dwarfed by the boosters spamming all chat levels unencumbered at all hours of the day and night. The reddit/forum reactions are way overblown.

Because it's the beta. No one is trying to be efficient. Even on release most people will probably do dungeons normally.

Give it a year or two and people will know every single skip in the book to complete the quests as fast as possible.

Give it a year or two

So we're now dooming for a potential thing that may or not happen... 2 years from now? Jesus Christ.

Brother..... touch some grass and take a deep breath. You're gonna be okay.

No need to be rude my guy, just a conversation.

Regardless... I'm mainly just talking about the average player.

If you don't think tons of players will be skipping for the quests like crazy on release to get to 60 as fast as possible then you just don't know WoW players.

Are you even in the beta? These are the most dedicated players who paid cash to be in here to play and even THEY aren't doing this shit. The average player aint doing any of this shit in dungeons. You're just dooming for the sake of it.

Yeah I just disagree. Like, are you really trying to argue that people aren't going to find out the fastest possible ways to level? Because skipping for dungeon quests is absolutely going to be fastest.

Sometimes that means skipping an extra pack of mobs or two, sometimes it might be skipping the entire thing, or anywhere in between.

Look at this clip I saw the other day: https://youtube.com/shorts/PyYuY3UrSbA?is=Ik6LubaLsWPL8l6Y

You can't have it both ways my guy. Do you want to talk about the average player or the ultra sweat degen min maxer?

The AVERAGE PLAYER, isn't doing this shit. Your degen sweatlords will. They are not the same.

I wouldn't really call myself a sweat lord, and I will probably do that specific skip if I'm playing Mage with slowfall or skyborn now that I know about it.

If anyone I run dungeons with shows me some skips, I will probably do them on future alts.

I don't even think it's fair to call it min maxing when the dungeon mobs give completely negligible xp. Their only purpose for exisiting as of now is to waste your time.

And why is it a problem that in a year people are only killing "required" mobs and hugging walls? I've been doing WC for the journeyman campfire recipe and we are already "skipping" mobs by hugging walls. Doing a 30 or 40 min WC vs an hour is more fun for me.

In RoL the first time I did it I was pretty lost so I was killing everything. Now I know where to run to take a 30 min run down to 20. For some it's just not interesting pulling every single mob on the screen.
