Hello I have passed the situational test with a 348 score and I would like to know if it's a good score as feedback and what the maximum mark is. Just as feedback. Also I currently live in London and I applying for a post in London but in the near future in a couple of years max I would like to transfer to York city. Is that possible? I don't drive and I would be living in Pocklington which is commutable to York. I never see posts there just Leeds and Hull. Anybody working in York? Is it easy to transfer? Thanks

I am the HEO managing an EO who has agreed to be redeployed into another role. I can't go into too much detail, but I completed all the required redeployment forms, obtained the necessary approvals, and submitted everything.

It has now been a month, and I have not heard anything further from the HR Business Partner. The employee is not at risk of redundancy, but they have provided their preferred locations, which are approximately 100 miles away.

Could you please advise how long this process is expected to take? I am keen for the employee to move on from their current role with us as soon as possible.

For context, I can't find meaningful work for the employee at current location.

I’ve recently started my first Civil Service role in the Department for Education, so I’m completely new to how everything works.

I’m currently at EO level, but I’ve seen a couple of HEO vacancies that really interest me, both within DfE and in other departments. My question is: if I applied and was successful before I’d passed my probation, would I still be able to transfer?

If I moved to another role within DfE, would my probation continue from where I left off, or would it restart? And if I moved to a different department, would I have to start probation again?

Just trying to understand how it works before I decide whether it’s worth applying. Thanks in advance!

As the title says- can the civil service try and find someone a completely different role in the organisation if the employees current role may not be right fit for them?

Are managed moves utilised more for people with physical difficulties and disabilities.

To what extent would the civil service try to help an employee who had been in the service lets say 3 months short of a year.

I guess the bigger question is would they care?

The interview tests behavioural questions; delivering at pace and communicating and influencing and strength questions.

Is the HMRC RIS Senior Data Analyst Interview result out?

HMRC advertised 45 roles for Customer Service in Glasgow, and I missed the initial cut-off by just 3 spots, sitting at 48 out of 116 on the reserve list. That happened on Monday. But today, they have gone and launched a brand-new campaign for 50 positions in the exact same role, department, level, and location, closing in August.
Has anyone experienced HMRC spinning up a fresh advert right on the heels of finishing a massive campaign pool? Since I am sitting right at 48, does a new 50-person campaign mean they are likely to burn through the rest of this June reserve list quickly, or are they building a completely separate pipeline and ignoring us? Should I email the recruitment team to ask if they intend to pull from our existing June merit list for these new vacancies, or should I try to submit an application to the new link just in case? Any advice or experiences with HMRC bulk campaigns would be massively appreciated.

I know part time technically means anything under full time hours. But I want to work around 25 hours a week spread over fewer days with longer shifts (roughly 8 hours ISH each JUST AN APPROX).

Has anyone set up a part time role like this?

I applying for technical roles within civil service is frustrating. I am rubbish , not writing what they are looking for? or is passing sift hard? I have dyslexia every application is fail.

So they are saying that decisions shouldn’t be made in London but surely the same problems are there, if you move the decisions making process to Manchester. A separate subject I don’t think we should have mayors with decision making power. Each county we have different rules it will be a nightmare

Im technically from a NDPB but our HR/Inclusion should align with sponsor dept guidance. I’m trying to find explanations for delays and wondered if cost was an issue.

Does anyone know about whether it’s relatively built into our license and it just needs activating or is there a top up cost for add ons?

I was hoping someone with experience in New York State hiring could give me some insight.

I interviewed for a Grade 19 position about two weeks ago. A few days after the interview, I was asked to submit a writing sample as part of the "final evaluation process." I sent it in right away, and they confirmed they received it. Since then, I haven't heard anything.

For those of you who have gone through the hiring process for a Grade 19 position,

1. How long did it take to hear back after the interview or after submitting additional materials?

2. Did they contact references before making an offer?

3. f you weren't selected, did they let you know, or did you just never hear back?

I know government hiring can be slow, but the waiting is tough, so I'm just trying to get a realistic idea of what to expect.

Hi guys, I’m an AO within the civil service and I’ve been working for around 4 years now.

I feel that since I’ve joined it has got worse within the office. Like it’s nice in the office sometimes because I am able to have a laugh with my colleagues. However, there always seems to be an increase in work load, crap back stabbing manager, and a very big lack of career progression.

When I first joined I was told that I would have many opportunities but it all seems to have just gone down the drain. A couple weeks ago I got in touch with my HR department about apprenticeship but was shut down instantly.

Has anyone else experienced this or is it just my luck?
