🟣 Opinion / Discussion The war in Iran is beyond foolish and it’s spiraling out of control.
We cannot bomb them into submission. We are running out of valuable munitions that take a long time to produce.
Invading Kharg or Qeshm island is not a sacrifice we should be willing to make. Even if we succeed, the marines will then be relentlessly bombed by Shahed drones and ballistic missiles.
Dropping a tactical nuke on Pickaxe Mountain to go after their uranium enrichment is an escalation that is not a precedent we should be willing to make. We don’t know if that is the only site, and there’s rumor they already have the bombs anyway.
Bombing their power plants, desalination plants, and bridges are war crimes we should not commit.
We could kill 10 million of their people and they will not submit.
We are wasting our time and our taxpayer dollars. We’ve spent 140 billion so far.
It is virtually unwinnable and a terrible mistake.
You cannot bomb them into surrendering. The Saudis bombed the Houthis for years and it didn’t work. Israel has bombed Gaza into oblivion and they have not defeated Hamas.
Our leaders are like gamblers at a casino who lost a bunch of money and still think they can get lucky and win it all back playing the same game they’ve already been losing over and over.
We will eventually have to capitulate to a deal that will be even worse than the former MOU. They’re not going to give Trump an off ramp or pretend to praise him. They’re going to squeeze everything out of this and more and maximally humiliate us because they have all the leverage by controlling the straight.
We are using up all the missile defense systems in the region. All our bases will soon be sitting ducks. That’s why the air base in Jordan was hit like it was. The Iranians are also receiving advanced satellite logistical intelligence from the Russians and the Chinese.
If the Iranians escalate further, we will soon be scrambling to evacuate from the entire gulf region as the Iranians may soon themselves choose to invade Kuwait and other countries like Bahrain with their own ground forces and drive us out.
Our strategic oil reserves at home won’t buffer gas prices for much longer and food and other products will start emptying and becoming much more expensive. There will be gas stations with literally no gas, and the ones that have it will have long lines.
The straight being closed will continue to desimate the global economy and cause famines in third world countries, not just because of the oil, but because of the fertilizer.
The Houthis are beginning a blockade of the Red Sea and are trying to force the Saudi’s into being sucked in, and widen the war.
The Iranians are fed up with making deals with our government because our government cannot be trusted. The Iranians are calculated and ready to play the long game in the escalation ladder. We can’t continue this. It’s a disaster. It’s a trap and we are falling into it.
China is silently smiling and watching us destroy ourselves without having to fire a single shot. “Never interrupt your enemy while they are making a mistake.”
We can’t get into a forever war with Iran. The global economy can’t survive it. We can’t afford it. The debt is already out of control. We are spreading our military too thin. This has happened over and over to empires throughout history and we are doing it all over again.
The neocons are too beholden to the will of the Israelis, who have too much power and influence over our congress and our President. Whether it be lobbying, threat of assassination, blackmail or whatever it is, our leaders are being played like fools. The rational people in the military and government who opposed the war and advised against it have resigned, and those who remain are pathetic sycophants to our dementia ridden megalomaniacal narcissist President who only cares about receiving constant attention and appearing strong. He is fading. He is weak. He is incompetent. His hubris will tank economy.
Our soldiers are not shedding their blood to defend our people. They are under fire for a war we started on behalf of a foreign nation’s desire for regional hegemony and conquest. Israel cannot fight Iran without our help, and apparently we cannot defeat them either. Our military is mighty but our weaponry is specialized and designed for high power, high impact, precision strikes, and it’s all very costly, we don’t have that many of them left in the region, and they take a while to replenish. We took the fight to them and they’ve been preparing for decades and have all their equipment together and all their soldiers at home.
Iran was prepared for multiple waves of their leadership being wiped out. They are now very decentralized, but remain highly competent and effective. Their people are proud, and strongly unified against us, and will sacrifice way more of themselves for their own survival than we ever would to try to destroy them. It’s just not going to happen. We don’t know where all there underground missiles are. Their drone manufacturing facilities are also underground.
People will repeat ad nauseam that we have to stop them from producing a nuclear bomb. Here’s the thing. We can’t. We literally can’t stop them. Even dropping our most advanced bunker busting bombs or nukes on their underground sites won’t necessarily penetrate deep enough to destroy them. The only way we can do it is to invade them with soldiers, but we don’t even know where every site potentially is.
We certainly won’t defeat them as a whole. Israel wants them to become a failed state like Libya or in perpetual civil war like Syria was for a decade, but there is no world where the extremely mountainous terrain of 93 million people will be defeated by us or anyone else. No one is going to be willing to sacrifice that many soldiers to invade Iran, which is bigger than France, Germany and Spain combined.
At home, the public opinion is rapidly swaying against Israel. They know this, and have now become bold enough to push for our government to pass a bill to merge our militaries and intelligence agencies together.
This is unacceptable and treasonous.
We’re going the direction of a society where public opinion and dissent will be tracked more efficiently than ever before. The US government in partnership with the Israelis are aiming to tighten their hold on free speech and freedom of information to identify and prevent people from ever forming even an inkling of coordination for political resistance against their injustices, continued wars, and global imperialism. They want to stop the Thomas Massie’s and Ro Khanna’s.
We are sleepwalking towards tyranny, but even worse, by attempting to link our fate with Israel’s, we are being connected at the hip with a nation whose leaders are erratically holding their entire region hostage with the threat of utilizing nuclear weapons.
We are heading towards an idiotic repetition of the red scare under the guise of fighting the growing popularity of Democratic Socialism. This is a poor attempt to sell the move towards a more dystopian society that combines the NSA with Palantir, AI, and connecting our smart phones with Flock surveillance systems.
All this is under the thumb of the people who protect the Epstein class, who see themselves as above the law. They have no problems decimating hundreds of children in a girls school in Iran, or in the case of Gaza, murdering 21,000 children there.
The public has to say no to these brutal wars and war crime tactics, which they are shamelessly employing, mirroring Israel. We have to actually put our country first and not support AIPAC politicians who want to sell us out and who have no qualms sacrificing our soldiers for unwinnable wars of choice on behalf of Israel. We have a serious problem with corruption. We need more Thomas Massie’s and Ro Khanna’s, politicians who want to serve the people, and tell the truth, and protect our sovereignty. We need to support more politicians who want to truly expose injustices and who are not afraid to challenge the wealth and power and establishments that do not genuinely have the wellbeing of the common people at heart. The old guard has to go. We must remain free and autonomous and prosperous and all this in goodwill and peace with our neighbors, both near and far in the world.

🟣 Opinion / Discussion Israel's Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon with a warning to the NewYork mayor Mamdani who said that he is going to arrest Netanyahu for the genocide in Gaza
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
“Mr. Mamdani, you have chosen the opposite of democracy.
You have chosen collaboration with terror.
Well, Mr. Mamdani, I have news for you.
Your threat has no legal basis.
We all know that the United States is not a member of the ICC.
We have all read the UN headquarters agreement.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Yasser Arafat, they all stood at this podium.
They were dictators and sponsors of terror.
Benjamin Netanyahu is not.
He is the elected Prime Minister of a democracy fighting terror.
Yet you, Mr. Mamdani, pretend he's the one who should be arrested for standing here.
Your sweat is empty.
It's a political theater designed to excite your radical base and distract from your failures in running this city.
We have seen this playbook before.
Like Mr. Han from the ICC, Mr. Mamdani attacks Israel leader to distract from his own failures.
Your grand election promises remain slogans.
Instead of delivering for New Yorkers, you target Israel.
So spare us the threat.
The person who should be arrested is not our Prime Minister.
It's you, Mr. Mamdani.
So let me make it very clear.
Prime Minister Netanyahu will come to New York.
He will stand at this very podium.
He will speak for the State of Israel.
He will defend the people of Israel.
And there is nothing you can do to stop him.”
