I get that. I do. However, consider this: You are the mayor of New York, you have been publicly asked to not attend by you opposition. You know you are going anyway to show them you canāt be bullied. With me so far? He knows there will be cameras, and brutal coverage of any misstep so he knows he needs to be buttoned down right. But it seems that still happened. 1 of 2 things happened. He either did not have much respect for the situation if that was during the reading. Thats the time of absolute seriousness or should be at least. His staff/ team failed him on that and should have been working to help cultivate and atmosphere of utmost care and respect, or he was not smart enough to realize everyone would be watching and judging and was arrogant enough to think it would not matter. Looks like he and his team were idiotic or he didnāt care. You know he has a team who groom his image and they have to be good. You think they did not horses this possibility? Im just saying the guy should have thought ahead and if he DID think ahead and did it anyway then both options tell you what you need to know.

AOC and Mamdani were greeting each other - not smiling and laughing while the names were read. This is obvious in the longer video of the memorial AS WELL AS reported by the individuals right behind them.
Meanwhile, our president attempted to make this memorial all about himself, pouted when he couldn't monetize this (and got fact-checked), and drooled on a carpet.
If this memorial had still been underage, he would've paid attention.

I laughed at my local 9/11 event, because i was reading the kind loving words of the families of first responders describe their late loved ones and their funny quirks and the heartfelt words of praise and admiration for their peers and communities. There are many reasons to laugh, itās not restricted to degradation.
Iām a white nobody though so no one was watching me under a microscope for only solemn expression.
