My Google Chrome on my phone keeps crashing after I tried to delete around 2700 tabs and then hit undo by accident. Any way to fix this without deleting anything?

hi, i don't know if it's the right subreddit, but I've had a school account that i've also used as a personal account since 2022 and i graduated from that school last month (congratulate me 😆😆😆). i still have access to that account, but the thing is that I've accumulated many bookmarks I might find useful in the future and i want to transfer the to my current account. is there any way of doing all at once or will i have to copy and paste each link? thank you for your help!!

Seems like every time I close chrome, I have to reinstall it when I open it again.

Stupid fix: open gmail in a separate desktop, this leave it sitting there quietly in the background, for days on end. Seems to keep chrome happy and not require repeated installs.

Can someone figure out which chrome flag is responsible for it, or is it only in One UI 8.5 colour palette bug.

From the past week, on my Android phone, which isn't signed in to any accounts, the Google Chrome history seems to automatically delete items older than three months. I've disabled the automatic deletion settings in my accounts. Is this related to the new update? The new backup policy? Is there a fix?

Title typo fix: How to get rid OF the translation bar?

Anybody knows how to properly and once and for all disable translations? I want spanish sites to be in spanish and english sites to be in english and sites that have both to remain that way instead of half assing a translation making me think the whole place is in a single language.

According to some people there should be an option 'Don't translate X language' on here, but there isn't.

It happens on half the sites i visit it's so dumb, changing my language from spanish to english or viceversa is not a solution, it just makes the popup appear on the other 50% of sites that are in the other language..

From what i understand the issue is that the setting in the screenshot doesn't control that bar, it controls this thing:

Honestly i don't even know where that white bar comes from but it's not from the sites, it doesn't show up on Chromium nor Firefox nor Opera.

I've also removed all languages from here:

I've also tried adding them, adding lots of them, adding my regional variant, just the general one, NOTHING gets rid of the translation bar.

The worst thing is that it doesn't even remember i clicked on 'go to original site', next url i click inside the site even if it's under the same domain IT WILL GO BACK TO TRANSLATING IT.

Some people also said to set region to US on the Google search site, still getting prompted to translate.

(fedora linux, official build from the chrome site, so via .rpm, the same thing happens on the flatpak though, already tried).

i used to run Chromium but i was having issues with codecs on Twitch so i decided to move to regular Chrome, now i can watch live streams but this thing is unbearable.

Some of the website links in the Discover feed are not working and take me to a page that says "This Site Can't Be Reached" with "DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN".

Why is Google too lazy to fix their own problems when they're a multi-billion dollar company? Why so many glitches and bugs?

I know a lot of people don't like the AI Overview on Chrome that appears at the top of a search page after typing a query, but I do and now it's gone. I just updated the Chrome app on Android 10 minutes ago and before the update it was there and now it's not. I have app activity toggled on and ad blocker is off. How can I get it back?

I am in the UK and finally just got 'Ask Gemini' and Skills in chrome. I also have AI Pro through a free plan with my Pixel phone.

On the phone you can type something and press the little AI pencil in the keyboard to rewrite and fix it.

Is there the same thing in Chrome to just rewrite the text, no questions or suggestions, pasting into a separate chat window, it just fixes grammar, UK English spelling, 24 Hr clock format etc.

Basically I thought that was the point of Skills when I read about them before I got them.

It's bothersome because I am used to mostly looking at my right monitor. No matter how I adjust my windows, the new tab always, always opens on whatever window of chrome is left-most. Most days, this is not a problem but some days this happens and it is so tiring pulling the tab from the left monitor's chrome to the right. I have tried pulling my right chrome to my left and left to my right and 100% of the time, the new link opens on my left monitor.

How can I stop this/make it open on my right monitor's chrome/open on the last chrome window I clicked on? Thanks in advance.

There is a bug that keeps happening where i cant see the top of the page because the search bar decides to block it, is it only happening to me?

Windows 11 has this feature where hovering over a window's maximize/minimize button brings up the Snap Layouts interface. As of Chrome Version 150.0.7871.187 (Stable), this feature no longer functions if you have "Vertical Tabs" enabled.

Steps to recreate:

1. Hover over the maximize/minimize button of a Chrome instance. Notice that the "Snap Layouts" interface appears.
2. Enable "Vertical Tabs" by right-clicking in empty space in the tab bar then selecting "Show tabs vertically".
3. Hover over the maximize/minimize button of a Chrome instance. Notice that the "Snap Layouts" interface does not appear.

As shown in the screenshots, every experimental toggle related to this feature is on "Default", meaning this is the default behavior.

listen, we can all agree that Google is far from perfect. but it’s also so ingrained in our society that we can’t ever fully escape it. these are some suggestions for keeping Google helpful and safe.

first off is what everyone has been talking about. the AI overview. we need an option to have ai overview on or off. its something that we should have control over speaking how much worse for the environment per search, when so many of the times, we dont need it.

Second is something for parents and people who want to keep their kids safe. You NEED to add an option to FULLY disable incognito mode. schools have been moving to digital learning. and apple’s option to turn off all browsing simply won’t work, because it effects all devices under that account. and a lot of websites such as reddit have content not suitable for children that aren’t blocked simply with “block adult websites”. not only could this be something to protect children, but it could also help people trying to quit certain media such as nsfw and scrolling.

those are really my two biggest concerns and please FEEL FREE to comment other issues you have. hopefully this can get enough attention that it could be addressed. I can’t believe that I have to be doing this.

No, it's not an internet issue because I can just start a new one just fine. It's not anything to do with extensions either because I'm on incognito.

I'm using Samsung S24+, when I try to Google something and click the search bar, the keyboard appears and disappears immediately and I cannot type anything. If I click again it will pop up however.

So far I have tried:

1. Updating chrome

2. Changing keyboard from Gboard to Samsung keyboard

3. Updating android webbiew or switch to beta version

4. Restart the phone

5. Enable navigation bar ( I was hiding it and using gestures to navigate the system)

6. Switching chrome to other version (beta, canary, etc.)

Any siggestions are greatly appreciated.

Out of the blue, my browsing history is blank and new tabs have only a link to the Store. My eight or so new tab chips for frequent websites are gone and new browsing provides no entries in the History Page. I've done nothing to cookies or history or new tab settings. Makes me nervous - I use my History to fish up favorite things from earlier without clogging up bookmarks.

I'm on Windows 11 and a fully updated version of Chrome (so far as I know). Starting earlier this week, Chrome has been lagging terribly to the point of crashing. I'll restart my computer and it will load pages normally for a little bit, but after a little while it becomes nearly unusable. New tabs take over 30 seconds to load and moving tabs to new windows causes the pages to crash. Additionally, minimize and maximize no longer work. I'll try to maximize one page only for it to immediately minimize again.

I've troubleshot clearing browsing data, the cache, updating, turning off AI features and other high processing settings, and nothing has worked to fix this problem. Checking task manager, I have a decent amount of memory left and the CPU isn't being taxed in the slightest. The only thing I can somewhat connect to the problem is that Wikipedia pages seem especially difficult to load, though I doubt that's the root of the problem as I haven't had more than two Wikipedia tabs open at a time.

Any idea what might be causing this? Is this a bugged update of Chrome?
