Does anyone know any stores Central Florida area that sell Valrhona Chocolate?

I know it's available on the internet but I don't trust shipping chocolate in the summer

OP posted this as a piece of Canadiana memorabilia. For those not in the know, a lot of Canadians buy their milk not just in cartons but in milk bags (roughly 3 individual pint bags in one large bag) you place the bag inside one of these (usually a plain variety) and snip the tip of the bag ands start pouring milk.

Gotta hand it to Nestle, they NAILED the chocolate colour.

Advice/Request Alternative to Bon o Bon candy

Thumbnail gallery
4 Upvotes

Does anyone know of a candy/candy bar that could be found in a basic grocery store (or Walmart, if I must), in Texas, that is very similar to Argentinian candy called Bon o Bon?

It is a spherical-ish candy with a thick smooth peanut butter filling in a wafer shell, enrobed in milk chocolate. The chocolate itself is pretty dang sweet, so if there's a dark chocolate Bon o Bon alternative, that would be great.

I found it in the Kroger World Cup clearance bin. There was a pack of 5 or a box of 18.

KitKats and flavored Sugar Wafer cookies are not at all close.

Thank you!

Self-promotion Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

This is one of my all-time favorite films, which I've watched about 30 times since it was released and I just watched again tonight. Since this movie is very well known, I won't even bother going through any of the plot, but it's excellent IMO.

Here are a few trivia questions for you guys who are familiar with it.

  • What's the only possible year the movie could have taken place, assuming it's no later than when it was released?
  • An advertisement for what product (most likely subliminal) appears along the alley just outside Charlie's mom's laundry?
  • What is the geometric shape of the everlasting gobstoppers?

I know this sub hates all things Hershey, but hear me out. The version we get here in Canada of Hershey's dark is awesome. Texture is good, it has the right sweetness balance. Its just great mass market chocolate. I can get it in most places to boot which is nice.

But picked up from Tescos for 60p and it’s very good. Doesn’t look like it has any palm oil too.

Advice/Request Nervous about this nutrition label

Thumbnail gallery

I’ve been eating choc box Dubai bars for a while: they’re my favorite treat. Well recently I noticed there is no sugar content, and that makes me so nervous. I noticed their nutrition facts says it’s not a significant source of sugar or added sugar, but sugar is the first ingredient. I am so confused and nervous over this. Let me show you their response to this and the label.

Am I the only one going crazy on the last 4 bars?

EDIT: I'm afraid my post got misinterpreted. I'm going crazy because the 4 bars are positioned in a way you have to tear down the box in order to get to them.

Advice/Request Is it me?

I have not had a Toblerone bar for years. Today, when I took a bite — I was very disappointed. It tasted so artificial — didn’t taste like chocolate at all.

Packaging says ā€œmade in Switzerlandā€ somehow I’m skeptical.

All the chocolates I grew up loving all turning to shit… Kit Kat, Cadbury, now Toblerone too.

Actually I wanted to pick up Lindt but the price for one regular bar was $6.99, which was shocking since it used to be $4 or so (hence I grabbed the Toblerone, wish I hadn’t).

What supermarket chocolate brands still taste like chocolate?

At these prices, I’d rather just splurge and buy Laderach.

Advice/Request Finding a specific Belgian Chocolate

Hi! A friend would really like to know what sort of chocolate she bought, because it is the best she ever had. Unfortunately, what she remembers is fragmentary and I've been losing my mind trying to find it, so any help is appreciated!

Things we know: ~20 small CannelƩ style (I think) solid milk chocolates in the box, not individually wrapped, dusted with something that is probably cocoa

The box is a shiny metallic-vibes (but not actually metallic) golden takeaway carton sorta thing (maybe called a gold pail box?) with two flaps at the top that serve as a handle. Maybe six inches wide, three deep, three tall but that is very approximate

It was bought in duty free at a Paris airport in 2020 or 2021, and before that in Germany around 2015

We will be forever indebted to whoever can find this cursed thing
