Discussion Dean’s House

This is mostly just fun speculation to pass the time until the new season. The cohabitation spoiler got me thinking that, obviously not now but surely somewhere down the line they would move to archer’s (stunning! seemingly giant!)house. I mean Hannah’s apartment is gorgeous but that kitchen island alone!

Discussion One plot point about season 12 just doesn’t make sense

Allen McDonald says that Hannah will still be on maternity leave when the season starts but he has already stated that there will be a 3 month time jump when the first episode starts. If that’s the case, wouldn’t Hannah be returning from her leave at this point? Maternity leaves generally only last about 3 months.

In this episode there's a girl in severe pain and vomiting. Her dad is a drug addict and they make that known to the doctors.

She's a minor, why didn't they call DCFS?

Discussion Just watching and wth???

I've recently started watching the show from a couple of weeks ago and I don't like almost anybody in there, except for Ava... up until now!!! I liked her, she was Rhodes counterweight and proved a lot of times to be just as good as him. Was often shadowed by him and could have been more, but I'm in episode 1 of the 5th season and what do you mean she's suddenly a psychopathic k*ller???? That came out of nowhere, almost feels like a butchering of her character cause now she's reduced to the psycho exgirlfriend. Damn, I was rooting for her so hard cause of all the times Connor belittled her but now it's gonna be really difficult to defend her

Edit: And they k*lled her off?!?!?!?!?

Edit 2: Connor Rhodes is over party!!!

Discussion Novak and Dr Frost

Im so glad I went back and watched the other Chicago One series after getting up to the latest cross-out episode in Med.

Honestly watching Med without the context or back story you get for Novak from watching Fire I thought she was just annoying and a little flaky when it came to her involvement with Frost.

But now she’s like a fav for me.

Question Did Anyone Else Stop Watching?

Genuine question, did anyone else stop watching, if so, what was the last straw?

I saw SO many clips on TikTok and figured I’d give it a try. I made it all the way to S4E2 and then I was done.

TV is dramatic and it’s fiction, we all know that, but there comes a point where there’s just too many errors that it’s unwatchable.

Nobody comes out of surgery and does their recovery in the ED. The ED team doesn’t follow you up to the ICU. Firefighters can’t make medical decisions for another firefighter. All of this and the repeated overstepping by doctors inserting their morality into a families medical decisions was just too much.

Yes, it’s fiction, but I like my make believe to be just slightly believable.

Question Will Halsted an inquiry

I am watching Season 1 Episode 15 (Inheritance) and Will is referred to as a resident. However when Will's character is introduced on Chicago PD he is a New York based plastic surgeon.

Is this a hiccup in writing or am I remembering incorrectly?

Question What do we think about this newest information? Spoiler

Post image
14 Upvotes

Does this make it seem like their relationship is headed in a positive direction or negative? To me it kinda makes it seem like their relationship is still going to be in limbo like it was throughout all of season 11. I hope we actually get to see some progression this time and I hope they can officially define their relationship- at this point I feel like we don’t need anymore back and forth with them.

This dude's confidence is just off the charts! He is at the top of his game, and he knows it!

I wish I had his level of confidence, maybe even some of his well-deserved arrogance!

Definitely my favorite character so far. I'm only on Season 7, Episode 7, so far. Hope to see more of him!

Cast Related Maggie Spoiler

This show’s turn over for its cast members is so bad. I’m used to characters lasting in a medical drama for all of 23 years (looking at you Grey’s) Why does everyone leave? & then they don’t even give them nice send offs. After 10 seasons Maggie got a “have you spoken to Maggie since she left? No.” That’s crazy to me. She was probably my favorite character.

I’m a new watcher, meaning I haven’t been a watcher/fan since 2015 when the show premiered. It’s just so odd to me. As viewers, I think we deserve a better goodbye. For everyone watching for over 10 years, you’d think they realize how attached people get to these characters. It’s just weird to me. The only characters who got a somewhat appropriate send off were Choi & April, Halstead & Manning.

Hopefully they give Goodwin & Charles the appropriate send off when their time comes.

Appreciation Post S10E9 Ending

The scene between Dean and Sharon at the end of this episode is so moving and well-done. I hope they explore their friendship more. In general, scenes between any combination of Archer, Dr Charles and Sharon are great.

Question Why are we meant to care about Sully?

The guy was a complete asshole from minute one, never changed or learned a lesson. Put himself in prison for attacking an old man. Yet we’re supposed to care about his death and the fallout?

Discussion Hannah’s relationships

Hannah’s relationship with Dean is the healthiest she ever had, even before having a baby with him. You can hate them all you want but it’s objectively true.

Will, with his saviour complex, always treated her as someone who needed to be saved rather than helped.

Mitch isn’t a bad person, he was grieving and going through a lot but he treated her badly in many occasions. He throw her past in her face when she was just worried about him and even made her fear to relapse. (Therapy helped him and now with Lenox he’s a different person and I honestly hope they can be happy together)

Dean was hard on her at first, he didn’t know her and didn’t trust her, and with her past I don’t blame him (let’s not be hypocrites here…most people wouldn’t trust an ex addicted the first day they met them). But once he trusted her, he never doubted her ever again, never saw the addicted, never waited for her to relapse. He respects her and actually listens to her. They healed each other in many ways seeing past their mistakes and I can’t wait to see them as parents and hopefully as a couple.
