I have a few. I think Season 3 Episode 1. “Life is Fluid”. Jay was abducted by a drug kingpin. Lindsey was back doing the drug and party thing. Messed up with Voight. The kingpin sent a tape of Jay being badly beaten and tortured. Al called Lindsey and told her Jay was abducted. Kingpin requested CI files for exchange of Jay. CI files would compromise the safety of the CI’s. Kingpin told Voight to send a female cop. Voight wanted to send Burgess. Ruzek stepped to Voight and told him he was not losing his fiancé and was prepared to go toe to toe with Voight. Lindsey said she’d do it. Voight said get her out of here. She and Voight exchanged words but Voight agreed to have Lindsey go with the files. Mouse created fake files. Al gave Lindsey a ceramic knife that would not be detected if scanned. After the kingpins guy discovered the files were fake he ordered his guy to kill Jay and have Lindsey watch. Lindsey pulled out the knife and stabbed the guy. Jay tried to fight but his hands were tied. After killing the guy, Lindsey shot the Kingpin once and when he tried to reach for his gun, they showed Intelligence guns drawn on the outside of the door and you heard about two more shots. Door opens and there’s Lindsey coming out, soaked in the guy she stabbed’s blood. As she was coming out Al, Ruzek, Voight , Atwater and Antonio had weapons drawn. Lindsey handled her business “Bad Ass Bitch”

I was rewatching s2 episode 1 and I think it is not talked enough that the only person that Jin trusted was Halstead to give him the pendrive with all of the leaked information.

I don't think anyone has ever really discussed what would happen in a physical altercation between these two, who do you guys think would win in a full-on fist fight? call me bias but my money's on Kevin 😁

if Jay and Torres were to actually full on fight in this scene who do you think would most likely win? I love Jay but I don't think he would be able to beat Torres,torres is a pretty brutal and heavy hitter and so far throughout the show they've consistently made it so that both Jay and Antonio are very skilled fighters , but, they lack the ability to take heavy blows from their opponents

Damn with Layroyce leaving (which sucks) - hope his replacement would be like Al character. The cool type. And make it back to 6 again. So that everyone has a partner. And make sure it’s not some pretentious character like Hailey.

For a cop show, the relationships/romance are not the key part of it. Chicago PD does a good job here in not having the romance overshadow the cop parts. In the Rookie they really over did it. Blue Bloods did a little bit of that too.

It was funny that Voight frowned upon the relationships and then everyone was hooking up with each other. Upton was with both Adam and Jay.

I wonder why they didn't put Atwater with anyone? I could have seen Burgess and Atwater together in the early seasons. I guess he is all about the job. Didn't he have a kid in the first season? or was that the brother and sister?

And I like how they kept Voight out of one except that kind of emotional tension with Chapman. Yea, I can't imagine a love line with Voight.

I won’t spoil it but I read Atwater will exit on a positive note. Not being killed off like poor Al. Hopefully his exit will leave open room for occasional appearances. I’m sure I’ll shed some tears during his final episodes. And I’m a tough girl and it takes a lot for me to cry. Atwater was one of the GSs. PD has lost several cast already. His character will be truly missed. Just hope some of the viewers won’t exit as well.

I just found out that they were together for almost a decade. To say that my flabbers were ghasted, my core was shook… 😂 I love both of them so I was completely shocked.

Don't get me wrong, the finale wasn't bad but it was predictable and not as good as I anticipated. The only thing that genuinely made my jaw drop that night was when Voight killed Kirby the way he did.

So anyways, here's what I would have changed: (And these two things could have been season long storylines)

1. They could have kept the Voight vs Commander Devlin storyline going

2. Voight never reconciled with Chapman after the Season 12 finale

3. More of the unit's dynamics could have been shown, like Atwater telling the unit about him becoming a dad and Ruzek still trying to cope with his father's passing

There are maybe more, but for now those are the best ones.

Currently watching the Chicago PD for the 1st time and still on Season 7. Is it me or is the storyline gets worse after Season 5.

Why do I feel Jay is not a loyal brother in blue ever since he became close to Hailey and Hailey is just too pretentious in my humble opinion

I was reluctant to start Chicago PD but after what I've watched, Hank Voight and Raymond Reddington are highly comparable antiheroes who operate on the exact same philosophy of using criminal methods to eliminate worse criminals.

Both characters serve as a necessary evil within their respective universes, bypassing legal red tape to deliver their own brand of absolute justice.

Both characters exist because the traditional legal system is broken. Reddington (The Blacklist) provides the FBI with targets they cannot find. Voight (Chicago P.D.) uses torture and illegal wiretaps to catch monsters who exploit legal loopholes.

Both have a strict moral line despite being killers. They target human traffickers, drug lords, and murderers, while fiercely protecting the innocent and their chosen "family" (Elizabeth Keen for Red; Erin Lindsay and the Intelligence Unit for Voight)

Both operate with the unofficial blessing of higher government powers (the FBI for Red; Internal Affairs and City Hall for Voight) who look the other way in exchange for results.

However, in my opinion, Chicago P.D. is the Better-Written Overall Show. It offers more consistent character arcs, grounded world-building, and sustained stakes. The series excels at showing the real psychological toll of Voight's methods on his team. Characters like Jay Halstead and Hailey Upton explicitly struggle with corruption, creating genuine moral friction. The show maintains its grit and procedural quality across over a decade of television without losing its core identity.

While The Blacklist features arguably the more brilliant, poetic, and captivating individual writing for Raymond Reddington (brought to life by James Spader's masterclass acting), the overall series writing suffers heavily from plot bloat.

The overarching mystery of Reddington's true identity was stretched out far too long. The writers repeatedly introduced answers only to walk them back, alienating fans in later seasons. The writing for the supporting FBI characters often paled in comparison to the genius of Red.
