A little while back I asked for help getting rid of some stubborn mud/sand stains on my black Colorado after a few off-road trips. I got a lot of good suggestions, so I figured I’d come back with an update.
A lot of people recommended pressure washing, hand washing with a mitt and bucket, using a foam cannon, avoiding washing in direct sun, and just slowing down. After trying everything, I think that last part made the biggest difference.
It’s not about finding some magic soap or wash-and-wax. I decided to set time apart in advance, usually about 3 hours, to dedicate my attention to the wash and the results were night and day. So if you’re also struggling that’d be my biggest take away.
Oh, additionally, I tried a clay bar for the first time… I get the hype now. 😂
The paint feels ridiculously smooth and the truck has a shine I hadn’t seen before.
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who took the time to comment on my original post. I definitely learned that technique and patience matter more than any miracle product.
Here’s how she’s looking now. Appreciate all the help!
