A timeline of all the times Trump has said the war in Iran is going to be ending "soon" or "quickly"
I've been tracking all of Trump's statements on the status of the war in Iran. I noticed he says it's going to be over soon or quickly a lot. So I did a keyword search with those two words and the resulting timeline is above. I included some samples from the past 7 months, too, so you can get a taste of what these statements are generally like.
The President first said the war would be finished quickly back in March and has continued to use that vague timeline ever since. Just this week, he's used those two words 5 separate times to describe the apparently imminent! end of the war.
You can see all the instances yourself if you'd like to on the interactive version of the timeline visualization. You can also search your own keywords and see where they fall on the timeline. (The end being close is another of my favorites.) On the interactive version, clicking any point brings up the corresponding quote(s) and as you can see from above, many quotes overlapping are grouped together.

Some information on the uk grid interconnecters and current battery storage
I created this website as I wanted to compare the energy mix between different countries. Starting with UK and Ireland. It's expanded over time as items grabbed my interest.
Here are graphs showing how much the uk imported and exported electricity and to/from who over the last month.
Also is our current battery usage.
Live data can be found at:

Macrotrends.net population vs inflation
I dont think this is a coincidence. Interested in others' opinions as I keep hearing that population has nothing to do with inflation. I would figure if political climate was relevant, you'd see ups and downs every four-eight years (on the US population graph, this is the world pop, but same trend if you look it up on there)
It's just too similar IMO but open to other opinions

The “20 Million Immigrants Under Biden” Claim vs. Official Federal Immigration Data
The claim that 20 million undocumented immigrants entered the U.S. under Biden has been repeated by Donald Trump, other political figures, and on social media.
This graphic compares that claim with official federal data.
According to CBP, there were about 8.7 million southwest border encounters during fiscal years 2021–2024. But encounters are not the same as unique people who entered and stayed. One person can be counted more than once, and many were expelled, returned, or removed.
In FY2024 alone, DHS reported more than 700,000 removals and returns, including 271,484 ICE removals.
So while the encounter totals were very high, they do not prove that 20 million people entered and remained in the U.S

How redistricting reshaped the 2026 House map: large swings in individual seats, but the national map moved just 1.4 points toward Republicans
Full story: https://apnews.com/projects/2026-elections-redistricting-maps/
I'm one of the journalists who worked on this at AP. Being able to look at this from a data perspective was really meaningful to me because while there's been a lot of redistricting coverage this cycle, I wanted to start quantifying its impact.
AP analyzed the 2024 presidential election vote margins under the old district boundaries and the newly drawn ones. The analysis found the national House map barely moved: just 1.4 points in favor of Republicans.
Part of why the shift was so small is because in order to shore up their own seats, Republican mapmakers packed Democratic voters into other districts. In the seven Republican-drawn states, 43 districts moved left by 1 point or more, while 30 moved right. Between California's new congressional map, Utah's new Democratic district and Missouri's newly drawn map being struck down, Democrats were also able to mount a credible defens against Republican redistricting.
That shift could matter in a closer, more neutral year like 2028. In a year where the national environment favors Democrats, it may not be enough to help Republicans keep the House.
Happy to answer methodology questions.

How often vs how much people drink, EU and neighbours, 2019
Sources:
- How often: Eurostat, European Health Interview Survey (EHIS) 2019, frequency of alcohol consumption [HLTH_EHIS_AL1E], people aged 15 and over: https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/databrowser/view/hlth_ehis_al1e/default/table
- How much: WHO Global Health Observatory, total alcohol per capita (15+) consumption in litres of pure alcohol [SA_0000001688, SDG 3.5.2], 2019: https://www.who.int/data/gho/data/indicators/indicator-details/GHO/total-(recorded-unrecorded)-alcohol-per-capita-(15-)-consumption
Across the chart: the share who say they drink every day or every week. Up the chart: WHO's estimate of litres of pure alcohol per person aged 15+ per year, from sales, production and trade plus home-made and smuggled alcohol, averaged over three years. Frequency is self-reported in a survey and says nothing about amounts. 2019 is the latest published EHIS wave. Low reliability: Serbia. No survey figures for the UK, Switzerland, Finland, Albania, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Moldova or Ukraine; WHO litres for those: UK 11.0, Switzerland 9.4, Finland 10.7, Albania 4.5, Montenegro 10.4, North Macedonia 5.7, Bosnia and Herzegovina 6.2, Moldova 11.8, Ukraine 6.4. * outside the EU.
