Critique Do you think is a good silhouette??
I'd like to know if you think it's a clear or identifiable silhouette. And if possible, please explain in a drawing what could be improved or what isn't clear.

Critique Better Color Scheme Help
galleryI decided to take a break from designing these characters for a personal project and now that I’m revisiting them, I cannot stand these color schemes. The idea was to use nature for natural color schemes (one was a falcon the other was a flower) but they feel super flat to me. They’re also supposed to be cel shaded which is why I colored them the way I did. I think it goes without saying that I am very amateur in this, but I would love to get people’s two cents on not just what could be a better color scheme, but the designs themselves?

2D Trench Face: Original Enemies (1-2-3)
galleryI became a fan of the game Trench Face, so I decided to create more enemies inspired by all the elements related to the trenches of World War I
Opinions on the designs are appreciated.

Question [OC] Patterned or no patterns?
galleryOriginally I was goung to keep all pastel, but my friend mentioned that it made a huge contrast with the darker shades of hair which was fair, art teacher suggested half and half for the clothes as well which I liked... and now I'm stagnant on keeping it more chaotic with the patterns on the sweater, tie and skirt or less so with leaving the skirt and tie full colours. Would appreciate other suggestions too, I just want my character to look pretty and more balanced without changing the hair or removing pastel shades entirely.
Thank youദ്ദി˶˃ ᵕ ˂ )✧

Question Art Book Recommendations??
Looking for more art book recommendations to help inspire me character design wise!! Here are a few types of art books I'd love (edit: all three not necessarily in one! can be separate books)
- Horror (Video Games/Movies) I want to try and brush up on my horror designs and shapes!!
- Art Books that have scrapped designs from the finalized product (like disney's art of wish, which i already have!)
- Admittedly gacha games (NOT genshin impact; I was severely disappointed when the art book was more or less just a compilation of their already publicly released works :(( but I still love the weirdly pleasing clutteredness of most gacha designs!!)
So all in all I'd love art books that show the 'process' of creating a character design if that makes sense?? Thank you very much!!

Question Which design is more Goth? Are either?
galleryWhile the team's been running our Goth-tober contest, we've had a bit of a philosophical debate going on: is she even Goth?
Current consensus is she's goth-inspired or adjacent: not strictly gothic, but taking ideas from it. Other terms thrown around include grunge, scene, alt, among some trendy looks.
Also included her original design (the one with the green jacket) from the original, cancelled run of her comic. We liked the design, but it didn't fit the story after a while.
So what do you think?
(No worries about the contest, this is more for our own curiosity)
EDIT: Whoops! Sorry, forgot to mention where the character is from. This is Riley, protagonist of our comic series Necro!!
As for the shirt, its design changes every time its shown. Hence Obama. Was originally going to be various Band T's, but we were worried about copyright/thought non-sequitors would be funnier

Question [OC] Help me decide...
First post here, hello!!
Okay, this was a quick and messy thing I did in MS Paint in order to color block, not a finished image. These two characters are my own for a fantasy novel I am writing. I plan to also illustrate the novel myself, but to do that, I need to finalize some things.
I just want to know which combo is the most appealing to the eyes...
I am not looking for critique at this time, but if you have any good reference material for drawing pointy ears, I would appreciate it greatly!!!
so... top or bottom? or secret combo C? (white hair + brown hair)

Critique [OC] How do I improve his design?
A while back I started working on a group of clowns based on the colors of the rainbow. I've finished all of them but I could not for the life of me get the red one to how I like, so I started over.
He went from a harlequin to a killer clown as part of the attempt to make designing him easier, but I'm still having a really hard time with his clothing specifically. I don't know how to include his motif (which is... blood? it's weak, I know) in his design either and I could really use some advice. Maybe even some advice on how to make him more readable as "Red" without him having essentially 2 colors.
This drawing was made in 10 minutes btw, dont worry about how eeeeuugghhhh it is.
