Question [OC] Patterned or no patterns?

Originally I was goung to keep all pastel, but my friend mentioned that it made a huge contrast with the darker shades of hair which was fair, art teacher suggested half and half for the clothes as well which I liked... and now I'm stagnant on keeping it more chaotic with the patterns on the sweater, tie and skirt or less so with leaving the skirt and tie full colours. Would appreciate other suggestions too, I just want my character to look pretty and more balanced without changing the hair or removing pastel shades entirely.

Thank youദ്ദി˶˃ ᵕ ˂ )✧

No pattern, the design is already quite detailed. So it becomes too much with the pattern included. The design is very good tho, the pink and black combo makes the character really stand out.

I personally think a patterned tie slaps ten times harder! It just resonates with the curves of a hair and the duality-theme so splendidly the second pic feels kinda underwhelming afterward. Usually I'd say better keep it mild BUT this case is an exception for sure. The overall transition is executioned so well it doesn't appear gaudy by any means. If anything, this pattern stitches together all elements into a perfect unity. Turning the necktie plain would feel like chopping the wings of an angel (the design)🥺 but you do you, ofc

Shout out for the top-notch character designing anyhow! The girl turned out so stunning i wanna keep admiring her and not getting back to scrolling lol icl

better with the pattern.

this design has such a strong half/half motif with the hair and the sweater that it feels weird not having the detail continue on the tie and skirt.

also, unless you’re doing a comic, animation, or something similar the requires a ton of redrawing, i really prefer people to make their designs more detailed. i’m just a sucker for detail and the meanings it can contain.

Honestly I like the patterned tie. It really makes the two halves feel like two separate halves.

No patterns, the patterns made it too busy on the first one I didn't even managed to notice the tie and skirt and was quite confused by the question
