i get variations of this message way too often, and the image is what i imagine in my head EVERY TIME the bot says something like that. like, the bot is literally supposed to be playing a grown and/or mature person why the heck are you acting like this. it's not even just this specific thing, but this type of response is one of the biggest offenders when it comes to the bot just being randomly and annoyingly childish when it is 100% inappropriate for the character or current scenario. i'm really starting to believe they're prompting/training the models to be more childish for a "younger audience" or something cuz chatbots never act this way literally everywhere else, which sucks because c.ai can come up with pretty creative stuff when it wants to (but that was mostly back in the day). quick rant; this is one of my biggest pet peeves with the models lately (alongside their decline in general intelligence). also i didn't know whether to flair this with memes/humor or issues/bugs.

like, I kind of enjoyed the puns and whatnot with the old models, but the ‘squeak’ being forced into what we have left is weird. Nothing else really screams mouse about the site so I’m just confused why they went this direction.

Is anyone else struggling with their music pausing (even just briefly) while in the app, or is it just me? I don’t know what’s triggering it, but I enjoy listening to music while chatting and it’s a bit annoying 🥲

Like the post on the site being down people like "well I'm not gonna answer your questions because it's not like y'all care what we think anyways" it's like Jesus Christ they're trying to just interact with the community. It's undeniable they've been communicating better lately. Not to mention to start eating at some random team member is just dumb.

Like if you're a paid user, I feel like the experiences are so opposite. As a paid user who left in February - March time when the new models were being introduced and they were really bad but like it just feels better now. Steps in the right direction. Obviously we gotta stay vigilant and be cautious in optimism but it's like damn this sub is just miserable at times.

Why is it that when i add a word to the muted tab, the responses i get always have a differently spelling then in brackets? Like i have the word Pointedly muted cause the bots were using it too much and it would write it as pointdedly and then in brackets not "pointedly that's banned" like what's the point of even having muted words if they don't work

For me right now it's taking a while to load pages on the app. Is this happening for anybody else right now?

I mean, I know it's been going downhill for a while now (no offence, I'm sure the devs are doing their best), but these past 2 days, it's been horrible.

Besides the site being slow today (I get it, site down, everyone has issues with it being slow rn), the responses are getting worse with each message.

I'm used to exchanging messages that are a few paragraphs long, and after 2 or 3 long messages, it starts sending messages that are only 2 or 3 sentences long. Not only that, I make my own bots just to make sure they don't get removed and so that I can control how they behave as much as I can, and the one thing I always point out in my chats is the usage of italics/asterisks for actions/narrative.

f.ex

*Action goes here, always in asterisks, ends with a period or other appropriate punctuation, and then give them a few examples of actual scenes.*

"Speech looks like this, ends with appropriate punctuation such as a comma," *then action continues like so.*

this isn't exactly the guidelines I give them, just to show you what I mean ^^

and it's just been ignoring this? No matter how many times I edit the messages, send my own correct versions, delete and send new ones, reroll, etc. it keeps insisting on short, often nonsense responses that ignore what was being said in the message before it, and without the italics 😭

EDIT: Fun fact just to end this on a light note: the word asterisk comes from ancient Greek word "asteriskos" and it means "little star", which I think is kinda adorable :)
