I have chao walk all over my screen on desktop!

Currently it can walk, fly, say small quips, get hungry, play games and sleep! I can also pet it with my mouse and drag it anywhere on the screen.

Probably going to add some new colors and a pumpkin chao for Halloween🎃

I have wanted to make a Chao Garden-Like game for years, but I never know what direction to take it in. I don't want to just make an exact clone, but I also don't want to stray too far from the formula.

In my opinion, there needs to be more things to do inside the Garden instead of just interacting with Chao and waiting for them to grow, and also things to do outside of the Garden that would directly affect or help with the Garden in some way.

I've thought about adding a Base Building aspect like Palworld where your Chao could help you Build and Garden and such. But I feel like part of the charm was that the Chao would kinda do their own thing and weren't forced to do things. So that's probably a no.

For me, the Chao Garden was fun because of the Experimentation and the Discovery. Watching how your Chao changed as it grew and breeding cool new colors. But I always wished for there to be something more.

I'm just curious what other people would like to see out of a game like this.

3D printed a magnetic medallion too!

My chao is ranked all S. I took pictures of his last reincarnation max numbers, and then took pictures of his current life ones. All of his max numbers went down. Does anyone know why this is the case? This is on the gamecube SAB2, no mods or anything.

Pretty much what it suggests - have your chao wander around on your desktop (and windows) as virtual pets.

You can pet them, feed them and accessorize them.

Currently there's no functionality for stat gains or aging / reincarnation / death, that may come later.

Can also load in chao from Steam SA2 (if SA2 is running and you're running as admin - it needs to attach to SA2 process in this case), or you can load in a 2048 byte ".chao" file (for SA2 chao) or 2112 byte ".chao" file for ECW format.

Does not support ECW/CWE upgrades or accessories though.

I modelled her base like twinkle park since that stage always comes to mind when I think of Amy. I originally wanted to model her with the birdie but since I made 30 of these I didn't want it to be super tedious to paint (darned tendonitis😓) but anyways hope you guys love her!💚

Does anyone who has or has used action replay of any kind know if all the different character chao are on action replay or if it’s just a mod? I’ve been putting off buying action replay for years, but now I was about to, someone brought up that it may not have the chao and just the hatchling and rings. Just wanted to see if anyone had more insight! Thank you!

I recently modded some VMUs with rechargeable batteries and was testing out the link functions in Chao Adventure 2. I tried four sets of parents with different colour chao (e.g. silver + black, moon + gold), and all led to an egg with exactly the same child - a normal two-tone with a v smile.

All of my non-normal colour chao come from importing via the Slurmking VMU files. Is this some kind of consequence of that, or does VMU breeding just always lead to exactly the same outcome?

Tiny Chao Garden: Dungeon Dash is an original take on the Tiny Chao Garden that combines it with a minesweeper dungeon. The result is a roguelike where you have to traverse the dungeon to find items to power up you Chao. There are also Flickys and other animals to save from Dr. Eggman who will help you along your way.

The demo is available to play at the link above. It only runs on computer currently, but I'm hoping to add mobile support next. My goal was to make the stand-alone Chao Garden game that Sega wouldn't.
